Ruark Audio R2 Mk3 DAB/FM Radio Soft Black

First heard this Ruark R2 unit in a local John Lewis Store and was surprised at the quality of the sound output. I decided to purchase the Gloss Black unit which looks better than the walnut wood finish for the bedroom as I thought the dual alarm functions ( separate alarm settings for weekdays/weekends ) would be really useful. The DAB/Internet radio output is really first class with a warm rich sound. The unit was delivered within a day by Amazon Prime and so far I'm really impressed with the unit. It may look a bit retro, no flashing LED's & a myriad of pushbuttons like most "modern" electronics items just a clear adjustable brightness display with a rotary control dial on the top of the unit for the settings and controls. The unit will also play music from a USB device and the USB port can also be used to charge many mobile phones. If you get the chance just listen to one - you won't be disappointed !

Our old music system was breaking down so we wanted something that had Dab radio, Bluetooth and WiFi and would connect to my husbands net work drive that stores his vast music collection. Everything works seemlessly, and we have both downloaded the Ruark Link app on our mobile phones which works brilliantly, you can control everything from this you don’t even have to touch the unit. Excellent Music System.

Superb sound for the size of the radio, with plenty of sound adjustment possible. Excellent Internet reception from many jazz and classical stations. Not inexpensive but you do get what you pay for in this instance.

Periodically stops working and connecting to the internet for no apparent reason. Beware.

Great sound for a compact unit and very versatile in the sources of music you can tap into. The only slight reservation is the selector dial is quite sensitive and it is easy to overshoot your target if you turn the dial quickly, but it's OK when you get used to it.

Sounds fantastic, looks great and exudes quality all round.Comes top in all the reviews.Blows the Bose out of the water.
