If you’re trying to stop a leak in Radiator it’s fine to have a bypass and not heater core.

Q: I have o ring leaking when cold and stops leaking when warm. Will this help?

It may, but it's main purpose is to stop leaks coming from small punctures or cracks. I'd recommend looking for products that work specifically on the seals, rubber O-rings or gaskets, such as NO LEAK. Hope this helps!
