Gives you the ports you need
This hub gives you back every port missing on the new 2016/2017 MacBooks. I mostly use the SD Card and USB ports. I have tested the HDMI port to make sure it works however I don't use it often. I figured if I was going to buy a dongle for my MacBook I might as well get one with all the ports I may possibly utilize in the future. The USB and SD Card ports work great when transferring my files back and forth. The dongle is small for the functionality it provides and connects to my MacBook securely. I would recommend this dongle for anyone who gets the new MacBook

extremely fragile, broken
I bought this in January 2019 (it is April 2021) and for a 50.00 item I expected it to be of moderate quality but I guess not. I am trying to work on a project outside of my external hard drive which I dont usually do, I usually just plug it in quickly since it is a huge pain to attach to the computer, but since this project was so big I didn't have space on my computer. This has been a nightmare - the slightest movement and it ejects my hard drive, disconnects unless propped on certain angles, and now after only one week of this it has officially died and my deadline is in a week. Terrible product for a high cost.

There are other better models out there but this one is OK
This one is OK. I bought a better one with more ports and with interchangable converters which was cooler and better.

I have 2 connected at the same time and they work well.
I purchased two of these and use them for connecting my 1 TB ssd drive, 64 GB ssd card, usb mic and numerous flash drives. I keep it connected to my MacBook and really only remove it when placing it in my book bag so that I don’t bend the connectors. Everything works well and the quality is good. I’m happy with my purchase.

Does not work with a case
Have to plug it in upside down due to having a case on my computer. It’s worked fine otherwise so far most of the time.

Better than Apples adapter
This adapter is better than the usb c adapter that Apple sells for $69. It has more ports, costs less and is made of a stronger metal material as opposed to plastic. I have tested all the ports and they all work well. It conveniently connects to the side of the macbook and matches the color and design.

Good solution for the price
Good solution for the price. Some cheaper hubs I looked at didn't have enough ports some more expensive ones had more ports than I needed. This one was a good enough for what I use it for. Good solid aluminum build and it works well.

Looks and functions good
Good build quality, all metal. Tons of ports, looks sleek. Make sure when connecting to a pc the cable does not come loose.
