Franklin Mill Onyx - Stonepaper Notebook (1340)

This paper is incredibly smooth and as a result does feel very nice to write on, though compared to the other stone paper journal I have the paper is thinner and doesn’t take pencil as well. (Makes indentations in the paper) As a result of the way these journals are bound the pages are wavy and the journals are hard to open, I’ll continue to use this journal but I probably won’t buy another one.

If you want to see what stone paper is like, then this is a good value. The binding is cheap and gel pens take a long time to dry on this paper. But over all I am satisfied. -1 Star for build quality.

So the first thing to LOVE, I held the tip of a fountain pen down on the page and there was zero bleed. So if this is an issue for your get a stone paper notebook!The drawbacks to this particular notebook...the smell. It has the smell of chemical dirt(?) it's just a really odd scent. So if you get close to your pages while writing for some reason. You'll get a nice whiff of it! The other big drawback for me is that the spine is the old glue/paper mixture so every time you open you'll hear the paper separating. It also doesn't lay super flat. If that is a big deal for you, I'd look at an alternative.FINAL THOUGHT: If you want to try out stone paper without paying $20+ this is a great option, but it is definitely a case of getting what you pay for.!
