USPS Scare
It says I received it in my mailbox. There was nothing there in the mailbox or anywhere on the porch.Today I received my knife. There was a mix-up when delivering multiple packages. My knife was left in the truck yesterday. But WOW! I got it today. It's a beautiful knife. It was worth waiting for.

Not heat treated properly
For the price, it is a pretty cool knife. If it is D2 it has no indication that it is. The heat treat is weak and one drag of a file left a noticible mark in comparison to my other D2 knives which barley get marked. I still dont regret the purchase, just a little dissapointed. You get what you pay for.

Looks shar- er, good.
One of my occasional hobbies is wood carving, and while I do sometimes get basswood blocks for carving, I also live on about 3/4 of an acre with a good number of trees. As time and weather passes, I get fallen branches that are good for simple carvings. I've found that a bushcraft knife can be nice for clearing away branches and twigs as I rummage for fallen branches.I saw this and thought it's length would be nice. In that regard it is, and in other regards, this knife will be nice and not so much. What do I mean? First off, I did not expect this knife to be so hefty! It's got some weight behind it, so for more burly tasks, this knife will do well. The not-so-nice regard is that as much as this knife is advertised to be sharp, it just is not (ergo the review title). This knife's blade is actually fairly sharp from the blade tip down to about 1/4 of the blade length. But the remainder of blade length is so dull you couldn't cut skin even if you tried. It feels like this knife is run through a pre-sharpening process before being sharpened by a worker. In this case, the worker only sharpened the blade from the tip down a bit before calling the job done and moving on.Mind, this isn't a big deal. Knives are meant to be sharpened after all. But again, given how much this knife is touted to be very sharp out of the box, it does not live up to that promise in my experience. Now, as for application, I'm afraid I haven't had time to really try this knife out. Winter has set it's icy claws in where I live so I'm not going to be out rummaging for wood scraps. Despite my rummaging practice, I am actually not an outdoorsy type so I can't speak for how this knife will fare in a deep outdoors situation. However, this knife's construction and steel quality seems quite good. Once I sharpen it and do try it out, I'll update this review if there's problems. But as-is, this knife is pretty solid and I feel it would do well regardless if it's casual light use like mine, or the one tool one might take out into the wilderness with them. However, if you're gifting this, be sure the recipient knows how to sharpen blades or knows someone who can and will sharpen it for them.

As cheap as it is, not bad, but not a very good knife
If you want a BIG knife, but you just can't bring yourself to spend maybe twice as much for something better, you could buy this one.First thing you'll notice is the sheath, and that's bad. The craftsmanship on the sheath isrough, but passable. If you really like the knife, maybe make a better sheath because you probably can with just a little effort. Then, when you draw it from the sheath, you'll note this is a hefty knife. It's long, thick, and heavy. The handle is thick and the joint of the scales to the tang is noticable, but not so bad it will cut you- might wear on you a bit with extended use though. The edge it came with is passable, and it's more effective with the mass behind it. You can chop through some stuff with this. The point is aggressive and sharp, but ugly.At this price, it could certainly be worse, but if you really need a big knife, just save a little and get something much better for not too much more.

Massive knife! Surprisingly high quality at a lower price point
I definitely was not expecting much at all from a sub-$25 knife, especially not one as large as this. And let me say that this thing is absolutely massive. Makes my K-Bar feel like a toy in comparison. Now, I'm definitely not a knife expert or even an avid collector. I do have a few, but I'm by no means a "knife guy". So please consider that when reading my evaluation. That said, for a such a low-priced knife, I'm impressed with the quality (even the sheath is pretty decent). Mine came very sharp right out of the box. It's got a very nice weight to it, and is more or less balanced. The scales are a nice solid wood with a smooth finish. The tang feels solid, although honestly I suspect that it probably wouldn't hold up to extended outdoor applications (camping, hunting, etc). I can't prove that, but it's just my assessment based on how the metal feels and the slightly less than perfect finish. But for occasional use and for doing gag lines from the 80s film "Crocodile Dundee", it's a no-brainer.

You get a lot for the price
For the price, this is a great knife. Wasn't expecting a lot. The blade came sharpened. The top part is unsharpened. It's full tang, as advertised. Craftsmanship is good and nicely put together. The handle is beautiful and comfortable, as well. It feels somewhat balanced. However, I'm not an expert; I'm only comparing it to a similar, more expensive knife that I own. The sheath is actually much better than I expected. I'm not sure how reliable this would be, long term. However, in the short term - and considering the low price - it's a nice, functional blade.
