Review after good few usage, short in height, medium warmth
Well a good quality jacket. Slightly short in height, hood is good which can also be folded with velcro at the back when not in use, which is good but make it slightly bulky when folded, also wont be good if wearing a hood as second layer, hands have slight fleece and net so its breathable. For anyone wondering, this version has very thin fleece lining which would need a hood or second layer inside during winter! Would be nice for british or irish autumn or spring.

Great lightweight jacket!
Jacket fits as per size. Despite its weight, is really warm and keeps the wind out. Can't comment on rain yet though.

Key word is "Midlayer", it does not have great wind-proofing.
I got this jacket nearly 2 years ago to replace a much loved Helly Hanson in-shore jacket that was fraying after about 20 years of being my go-to jacket. I am now ordering a different jacket because this one is far from being a go-to jacket. The good:Looks great, handy pockets, decent water-proofing, nice hand-warming lined pockets, hood tucks away in collar neatly without being bulky. The bad:Not great wind-proofing so a cold wind will cut through you, huge hood with little adjustment so only usable with a woolly hat on underneath. The problem is that its use is limited. I wear a lighter jacket when it rains in summer (plus the large hood blinds me). Because of the poor wind-proofing it doesn't keep you warm enough when there is a cold wind (even with a fleece on underneath), so it is being replaced for winter by a ski jacket. It's fine on a still spring or autumn day when it isn't raining or if I put a woolly hat on underneath. If you plan on putting a wind-breaker over it then it'll probably be fine, otherwise it just doesn't quite work. It's a shame because it ticked so many boxes for me, but I'd get home from a walk with the dog frozen to the core, and you've got to stay warm!. It will probably still be my chosen jacket for wandering in and out of shops in town (in dry weather so I won't need the hood).

Pleasant Surprise
With the part of the world I live in, a warm waterproof jacket is requisite. Helly Hansen, notwithstanding attempts at brand hi-jacking by Shell-suit Boab types over the years, still stands as one of the most respected outdoor wear brands, originating in Norway, of similar climes to here in Highland Scotland. Wearing a water-proof jacket can sometimes be akin to donning a tent but with its smooth fleece-lining, the hooded midlayer is a light-weight but comfortable prospect. Walking around in temperatures close to zero poses no issue.Main criticisms would include the overuse of the HH livery, the jacket's length (to this is probably ascribable to the 'bomber' styling) down to the waist and the stingy waist-pocket sizing, making fitting a 'brick' phone as my own is rather difficult. But the stiff neck, for me, is a plus, going back to the notion of a bomber-style jacket.

Happy
Took me a while to find a jacket like my old HH from years ago which was waterproof, light and had a hood. This is maybe on the warm side for me due to the polartech fleece lining which you can't remove. Fully waterproof so far, zips are all fine and you can tighten the hood properly. The branding is a little obnoxious, I thought one of the logos on the arm was a sticker but it's not lol. The prices on here vary loads all the time so make sure you buy it when its at a decent price.I'm 6.5/6.6ft and its just long enough for me, I didn't want a long coat so this covering the belt and top of my trousers is perfect length for me, arms are quite long but then so are mine.

Finally, This is it.
I spent ages looking for a good quality jacket which would keep me dry and warm. I found it at last. Many others are just crap quality these days and while this is expensive I can assure you it's well worth the asking price. I was wary purchasing at the £96-ish quid I paid but I'm very happy with it.If like me you've struggled to find a good quality jacket that will keep you warm, dry and is lightweight with plenty of pockets this is the one. When I inevitably need a new jacket one day Helly Hansen will be on the top of my list.
