Perfect for nightshade sensitivity
I recently (well, a couple years ago) found out I am nightshade sensitive but prior to that I had a mini love affair with ketchup. Strike that, it was one of my longest and most solid relationships. So as you can imagine, I’ve missed it.I was concerned about this because... beets. I mean I like them roasted with other root vegetables but pickled beets are the worst. Since learning I couldn’t have nightshades I’ve found a lot more uses for beets than before, which was surprising to me. So I thought that, concerning as the idea was, I’d give this a try.The first bottle that came had leaked and was a grey color and smelled foul so I was even more concerned. I stuck it in the fridge (so I could compare) and reported it damaged and they sent me another. The second one came and it was sealed and ketchup colored and smelled... like ketchup smothered beets but not entirely unpleasant. I threw the first bottle away after comparing the smell and color.I got some sweet potato fries (while I do sometimes miss regular fries, sweet potato fries are actually better) and tested the ketchup. It does have a definite earthy flavor associated with beets but flavor is surprisingly similar to ketchup. And the texture is spot on.I’m probably not going to use this ketchup as prolifically as I would with Heinz because this costs significantly more but ($11 compared to a bottle 3 times it size for $4) I am glad I have an option now. AND looking at the label it’s healthier and gluten free. Which is good because I’m waiting on celiacs testing to come back (nightshade sensitivity is often associated with celiacs).

Great product!!
Love this product. Being that I am allergic to tomatoes the struggle has been real not being able to use ketchup. I was very skeptical trying this product out because I have a very strong dislike for beets. However, the flavor is very good and very similar to ketchup. As others have stated, the original is on the sweet side, but I didn’t mind it. I do play to purchase the other version as well.Side note: this product is now being sold at Walmart and is much cheaper.

Great product, overpriced online
This ketchup is incredible. Since developing an allergy to tomatoes, it was impossible to enjoy things like ketchup, bbq sauce, etc but this is a really good substitute and to me, tastes very similar to regular ketchup with a subtle sweetness from the beets (full disclosure, I love beets). Great to use in recipes as a sub for tomato paste or ketchup. The only reason I won’t give it 5 stars is because it is way overpriced on amazon. Buy at Walmart for $6-7 instead.

This is a ketsup that I like much better than tomato based ketsups.
I am avoiding consuming Nightshade plants whenever possible. I have substituted fresh beets and carrots for tomatoes in a delicious Marinara sauce recipe that I found online. I am also experimenting using canned beets in other tomato based sauces because most of the flavor comes from spices. When I discovered Foraging Fox Ketsup I was very happy because it can be used exactly like tomato based ketsup. The thickness of the product makes me want to try it in place of tomato paste when only a tablespoon of tomato paste is called for in a recipe. I will not go back to tomato based ketsup because Foraging Fox is so tasty.

I haven't tried the product, but was irritated that ...
I haven't tried the product, but was irritated that the ingredient list was not more readily available. It isn't even on their website. (For those who cannot have sugar, reading the list is a must.) Here it is for anyone looking: Apple, Beetroot (37%), Red Grape Vinegar, Golden Granulated Sugar, Olive Oil, Sea Salt, Rapeseed Oil, Spices, Horseradish

Squeeze bottle would work
Love the taste/flavor, but the bottle opening is TOO BIG! Ruined two meals so far because too much came out!

I love it!
I went nightshade-free last Fall in the effort to reduce inflammation caused by Psoriatic arthritis. I needed something to replace tomatoes/ketchup in recipes and I wish I would have bought more than one bottle of this! I LOVE it and it works so well in the recipes I tried it in as a substitute! I was worried about getting a lot of beet taste in it, and although I get a little of beet taste at the back of my tongue, it really does taste more like ketchup than I thought it would! I'll be ordering two bottles on my next order! My only real concern, and pet peeve with companies, is when they put "spices" on their ingredients label. A lot of us really would like that listed out!

Leaky Bottles !
We really have not been able to try the Hot Ketchup as yet, as we have gotten two bottles so far and both were leaking badly when we received them. I was afraid to eat from them as the chance of contamination is greater in an opened bottle. We did order one of their other flavors and there was no leaking in that one, only the hot sauces leaked. Not sure why that is, but for now I cannot recommend this product.
