This is a good hat is you're wanting more shade when in the sun. It covers the back of your neck and has a pull cord. Easy to pack away if going on a trip and very lightweight. I know this is a sun hat but I feel if this had a waterproofing cover it would be even better. This is a reasonable price at £15. I would recommend.

Flimsy rubbish that covers your eys

This is a comfortable sun hat to wear, with a cord that can be tightened around the head and under the chin. The neck flap is comfortable and adds an advantage over a regular hat. It has mesh that aids ventilation, but is a source for UV to penetrate. The flap and brim is opaque, however the material around the head is thin and does let through some light. I have glasses that darken under UV, and as a test I placed these on top of my head beneath the hat to see to what extent they darkened when outside. As expected, they darkened somewhat after a few minutes, however not as much as without the hat. I intend to use this when in the garden, but still with additional sun protection for good measure.
