Programming Web Graphics with Perl and GNU Software
J**S
An excellent introduction to web graphics.
Once I had installed all the necessary perl modules from either CPAN or ActiveState (I develop in a Windows environment) there was really no limit to the things that could be achieved by trying the examples contained in the book. The book really does provide a great introduction to web based graphics. However, the dynamic nature of PERL means that the section on displaying graphs in your www pages is already out of date due to an updated module. I found this a little disappointing for a book that was only six months old, but I have since obtained a copy of the original PERL module to enable me to continue with the development of my software project. All in all a vital tool for initiating yourself into the world of dynamic graphic generation and modification on the World Wide Web.
