It does the job however since I'm not a power user (check book register only) I find their new subscription license to be nothing but a money grab. I used to purchase a new copy every two or three years but now will be forced to pay a subscription fee every year (for just a checkbook register). I unwittingly downloaded the 2018 version because I was being pelted with popups to purchase it. I didn't do my homework and found that I was caught into a subscription service. It won't happen again and Quicken has taken the only annual fee they will get. Before my subscription expires I will migrate to another checkbook register.

Don't buy a download from amazon. Amazon gives you a number and you have to go to quicken to down load this product. the inuit people at quicken are terrible and their website is a mess designed to discourage anybody from getting help at the quicken site. if you buy any software at amazon get the cd/dvd so you will have something tangible.

Starter version cannot be upgraded through Amazon
Probably my fault, but when you buy a "Starter" product I assumed you could upgrade it. If you purchase this from Amazon, it turns out that there is no way to upgrade it to a version of Quicken that lets you track investments. Lesson learned - don't buy software through Amazon because it appears that there is no way to get a refund or to upgrade a product to a useful version. I now have to repurchase the product through Quicken and the money spent on this through Amazon is wasted.

My Choice Software for Tracking Expenses and Checking Balance
I've been using Quicken for as long as I can remember. I recently tried other financial software but the one thing they were all missing that I need is the ability to project my checking balance into the future. I auto-schedule my upcoming bills and payments so I can look 30 days out to make sure my checking balance stays positive. I get the Starter edition as I only use use Quicken to track expenses which works great for my needs. I use other software to track investments.

Good program, used it for years, but won't use it anymore.
I've used Quicken for years and was happy with my Quicken 2013, but when I updated to a new computer, the old program was no longer supported. I loaded it from an old file but I could not activate it. So, my only option was to subscribe to the new version and pay Quicken every year. I use Quicken to keep track of my checkbook, I don't need all the features. I have 14 months to find another program to use because I will not pay a subscription to use the new version. It is not worth the cost to me.

Very Kludgy. Poorly maintained Software
I have been a quicken customer since it 1st appeared and thought it a great product. But as the years have gone by it has gotten kludgier and kludgier! Open takes an age (because the bloody thing is going out to try and make you upgrade) and changing accounts causes the screens/panels whatever to pop up, down - up aging in a different place and generally appear messy. And after a download for the bank and consolidation it's like watching a ballet dance as screens/panels grow, shrink and move around until they finally settle. I call this Microsoft disease. For years they added code to Windows merely bypassing stuff already there making things slower and more complicated. Here. Quicken have anew master more interested into forcing people to update every couple of years (including threats to stop your on-line bank updates). With the easy access to all my bank accounts - online now I am switching over to a spreadsheet just to keep a summary. Bye Quicken

0 Stars - Crashed my computer: Blue screen of death
I purchased this version of Quicken, downloaded and installed it then restarted my computer. My computer was unable to restart and is now reinstalling Windows. I had to go to quicken.com to request a refund. We have used Quicken since 1986 and have come to rely on it. I will looking for a different software product for this purpose.

This is a subscription that is useless once it runs out
I ordered this because my previous version wouldn't import my bank statement after my bank updated to the QFX format. The new version was very slow and showed only a few lines of the register. It was a r real step backwards but at least I could load my bank data. After spending time to tweak it and turn off all it's automatic rules it finally was usable. After about a year I start getting the bag screen to renew but since I don't let this software directly access my accounts I ignore it and figure I'll use it like I did the previous version I had. Then today I try to import my latest statement and nothing happens. I try to enter my data manually. Still nothing. After some more research I find that the starter edition doesn't allow you to do anything except view and export your data. What a load of crapware this is. This software has more features than I bet most people need and if I'm not using Quicken's services to download why would I want a subscription. Also, the Quicken data guarantee didn't indicate that the starter edition was excluded. This is the last time I'll be using Quicken.
