Amazing before I lost it.
Amazing loud radio for the size and cost. Unfortunately the size cost me because I lost it several years ago. I would like another someday.

Almost 5 Star !
I Actually Like Everything About This Radio. Inexpensive, Easy To Program With Chirp, Durable, Battery Life Between Charges, LIGHT WEIGHT Which Is The Reason I Purchased To Use For Amateur Radio Cross BandRepeating. So Why Almost 5 Star? My Only Gripe Is The Radio Comes Factory Programmed To Use Frequency's All Over It's Range! (400-470 Mhz) And I Am Sure Almost All Of Them Are In Licensed Bands!Should Have Come Programmed With FRS Frequency's To Make It Legal Out Of The Box.

Make Sure You Test It
Let me start off by saying: I got this as an experiment. I've been looking to field a few more handhelds at a local church camp. The camp has a UHF repeater which is using DCS. The first radio I got would transmit fine and the repeater would unmute for the DCS, but the radio wouldn't unmute on DCS. I tried changing every setting in the programming software (CHIRP). Finally, I just gave up and said it won't work. Luckily, I ended up returning it for a replacement. Lo and Behold, the replacement unmutes on DCS just fine. Needless to say, there must have been something wrong with the first one.As I said, I'm using this as a tester. I'm hoping to run it through its paces so I am comfortable with them. Since I can get a whole radio for cheaper than I can buy a replacement battery for the Motorola PR1500s I have up at the camp, I'd like to have some radios that I don't care about. - Radios that the pocketbook doesn't notice when I have to replace because someone ran over it with the tractor or accidently took it home, incidentally, never to be seen again.Hopefully I'll be able to report that it's still working in a year, until then, here's to playing with radios!

Awesome Little Radio
I couldn't believe how this tiny radio performs. I programmed it on several GMRS repeaters as well as several amateur radio repeaters and it worked beyond my expectations for such a small radio. Very light weight. Belt clip holder is very secure. Has 1w/5w output modes. Audio is crystal clear on both receive as well as transmit. Battery lasts all day on a 20/80 basis. Scan function works well. Great value for the price tag.

Survived the Laundry and still operating like new
The dreaded moment happened with my WLN KD-C1. I forgot that this small / slim radio was in my shirt pocket, and proceeded to put my shirt into the laundry. It went through the complete washing cycle. After hearing a loud thumping in the dryer for a few minutes, I went to investigate what was wrong. There lay my radio amongst the drying clothes. Here is the testimony to these radios - I powered it up, and it stated it was on "Channel 2." I powered it off to see if there was any water in the battery compartment, and it was completely dry. Now that was a week ago, and the radio is still operating like new. The only thing different is that my radio is cleaner on the outside than it was before.

Showed promise, but sadly does not work
I'd like to think I am handy with technology, I have a technician radio license and use chirp software to program other radios. This thing came with some random frequencies programmed in it, so it would not work with your basic walkie talkie. I was happy to read that this radio can be programmed however the chirp software could not connect. I had to dig, but was able to find the factory software and programmed in FRS frequencies so that I could use this with our other walkie talkies. Problem is the thing wont receive audio. It will transmit, and the light will come on like its receiving a transmission but no audio. I have tried tweaking the settings to no avail. Maybe I will figure it out but this thing plain does not work.

Very nice little radio !
For its size it works great. Hit all the repeaters !Easy to program with chirp use same program cable as Boafeng radios. For cost it’s well worth it. Fast shipping and well packed. I will buy again. Give it 5 stars ! Fun little radio. Take any where!

Easy to use, great value
I needed a radio for my mom that was simple to turn on and off, and hard to change the channel (to one I'm not listening to.) I easily programmed it with CHIRP in minutes, and it has worked out well. Even the VOX feature is quite workable (my expectations were low.) Not sure about the range, it's not an issue for us, it works well through walls, haven't had any reception issues. Great value and perfect for our needs.
