Randolph AVIATOR Matte Chrome Frame (Bayonet Temple Style)

I have prescription polarized sunglasses (Rayban), but though I use them for reading, I still needed something better for driving and glare protection. I saw a piece on Randolph Engineering on a local show and then read the reviews. The pilot shop at the local airport is a dealer, so I went to try them out. I normally would purchase from the local dealer, but I had an Amazon gift certificate and the price was $50 less than the pilot shop or Randolph directly, so I couldn't resist great glasses at no out of pocket cost to me. LOVE these glasses...I don't think I have ever loved a pair of sunglasses. Fit is perfect; solid but don't feel heavy on bridge of my nose and they don't rest directly on my ears...I almost forget I am wearing glasses. The view is so clear and crisp I initially thought they weren't polarized (which I figured explained the lower cost). Glare is cut (even early morning and late afternoon commuter sun glare!) I understand why those who have purchased Randolph glasses are loyal. Highly recommend this well made product that does exactly what I need them to do. If Randolph can make a pair with my prescription, I will do that next. Some reviews commented on the case not being sturdier, but my Raybans also have a similar case, not a hard case like reading glasses. I don't have a problem with the case, it protects the glasses well enough

Great sunglasses! Trust the measurement guide- on the money, for sure. I wear a 7 3/8 fitted cap and could have gone either way with 55 or 52's. Guide referred me to a 52. Glad I went 52 and stayed away from the more standard, larger 55. Made in USA and a great product. AGX is a great lens color, too. Wear them while riding my Harley and they offer great wind protection, and don't flop around in the wind- great fit! Dig them...

This is a slap in the face! I received fake toy sunglasses! Everything is from frame to lenses are plastic! Sending back for refund!

They're aviators. Real aviators. I was back and forth between RE or AO and finally bit the bullet and went with the RE. I'm pretty glad I did, as I think it would be hard to beat the overall quality of these shades. As a long time owner of Oakley and Ray-Ban (before Luxotica ruined them) I had decent expectations for what quasi-quality shades should be.I was a little disappointed by the case quality, the case is pretty soft and the button rivet has started to come loose. The cleaning cloth and extra nose pads/maintenance kit are nice touches though. The matte chrome is a perfect compliment to the gray lenses and is probably the most subdued and neutral of the color options. They look very professional. I opted for the 55mm after looking at both RE and AO online sizing chart and even printing out scale versions of the frames to try on. I'm glad I went with the 55mm as I don't have a small head, but they still are not small by any means. However, I do wish the bayonet arms were longer. The way the bayonets were curved when I received them, it seemed they were made for someone with a much more shallow face. I was able to bend them more straight so they fit closer, but longer arms would make these frames perfect!I have messaged RE requesting being able to purchase the longer 58mm frame arms as I think they would be able to bolt on, but have not gotten a response in a few weeks. I will call shortly as I think the longer arms would make these sunglasses ideal. These glasses have gotten a resurgence in popularity in the form of: Tom Cruise in Oblivion, Don Draper in Mad Men, or even Stirling Archer who rocks the aviators. If you have the right face for these sunglasses, it's hard to beat the cool look.

These are the best. I love them. This is a second purchase after losing my first pair on vacation. The glass didn’t break when i fell running. Classic and iconic. I recommend the matte silver.

Great looking sunglasses and high quality....This work with both business and casual apparel. They are weighted perfectly and give you the classic aviator look. A quality frame, the arms are solid and not loose. Highly recommend these! I ended up going with the Chrome.

Awesome shades! really good quality. Was not expecting shiny aspect of the glass, but, I love them regardless. Quality is really nice. Glasses fit perfectly! I have a large face, so I bought the largest size and it fits just perfect!I switched from Ray ban aviator to these and am very happy with my decision to do so. This is a good change.

Great quality product ! ( you can actually feel the quality when you hold them ) . Looks great and stylish - do not hesitate to buy !I ordered the 52mm but it was too small returned it to amazon hassle free and ordered 55mm that fits perfect !The only thing missing is a nice jet plane ... Lol

These glasses are freaking amazing. Perfect fit, even with sweat they refuse to scratch. You’d have to run them over with a tank to scratch the lenses. Worth every penny. I’ve had Persols, Maui Jim’s, Serengeti, you name it and these Randolph’s were the only pair that fit like a dream and refused to stretch, bend, scratch or break. They don’t leave my side.
