Superb value for the dollar, but knowing what I know now, I might've bought different things
There are three shortcomings with parts in this kit I would've liked to know more clearly before buying:* Case design is incompatible with standoffs for pi hats. Even if you don't use the topmost layer (which lacks holes for standoffs), several of the other lower layers also very much get in the way of using standoffs.* Coolant fan screws appear to be conductive metal. I'd rather they be non-conductive like the four outer screws holding all the layers together. For now I'm having to not use the fan because I'd worry about what project tinkering stuff I'd short out by laying it on top of those screws.* Am a little jealous of certain other kits' better GPIO extension boards for, say, having better/more readable pin labeling, or pins directly down to the left & right +/- channels to straightforwardly drop 3.3v & 5v power there.Despite all that, I'm still really torn between rating this just 4 stars for those shortcomings, or rating it 5. Because as much as I might want nicer parts, I really can't knock this kit for being a solid-dollar-value way to get started. For instance, yes, now that I know the pibow coupe has better support for standoffs I might want that as my next case, but it looks like that case alone costs 33% more than what I'd paid for this entire kit.

Excellent Case for your Raspberry Pi
This case is a little different from previous Raspberry Pi cases I have used in that it has flat plastic layers that sandwich together. It's easy to assemble, and it looks unique and very nice. The case has a fan assembly for cooling and heat sinks. The CPU no longer requires a heat sink due to a new chip design of some sort with built in cooling. It also includes a ribbon cable and a GPIO pin device for seeing active pins. I have used neither of these yet, but it's on my radar. The case has all the cutouts for camera attachments and the GPIO. All said, it's a good looking case that's easy to assemble, and it works great. The one thing I wish they would have informed about is that the fan (which is probably unnecessary) uses two of the GPIO pins for power. So when the fan is used it appears the GPIO cannot be fully available. Since most cases don't bother with a fan, I expect the fan is just an added bonus that you could not connect if you want the GPIO free to use for other projects. I am completely happy with my purchase.

Wow! Excellent; I'm delighted. And it's 2019, to boot.
Out of the 1000+ or so things my Prime-addled family has bought from Amazon over the last decade or so, this one probably (or at least possibly) delighted me the most.I've only ever submitted a couple boring reviews, so here goes: In Oct. 2017 I bought a RPi 3 Model B V1.2 and a similar type case kit (wasn't this kit and not from this vendor) from Amazon (for more $). This kit's case is nearly of nearly identical design as my old one is comprised of nine CNC-cut layers- EXCEPT... the old one must have been for designed for an older RPi, maybe a 2 or something. On the old one, a couple of the layers weren't designed with quite enough clearance (around the USBs maybe?...I forget) and I remember breaking them while trying to file them to fit. They're a bit fragile before stacking and fastening together. I did get the old one to fit after abusing and breaking it, although the breaks made it kind of ugly. The new one which is the subject of this review fits great.one i one fits on an RPi3 Model B v.1.2 (as printed on board; not sure if that means it's referred to as a "B+" because I'm not familiar with the submodel nomenclature). It assembled easily with the well-illustrated assembly instructions (as currently shown in this listing's product images. This kit has the heatsinks, ribbon cable assembly (200mm centerline-to-centerline distance of the 40-pin connectors), GPIO extension board (w/respectable-looking solder joints and straight pins/male headers).Kit has a 5V 0.20A fan with female terminations to plug in the GPIO's 5V and GND pins, all the assembly HW, great instructions. Hope I'm not forgetting anything... the point is: everything I need is included, plus GPIO stuff. The included P/S "looks" as good or better than an engineer (me) expected for the price and has worked fine over the last couple of hours. At this writing on the 1st day of 2019 the printing on it says "Switching Power Supply" and "MODEL:XS-0502500S". it says it's 5V, 2500mA out, 100-240VAC 50/60Hz 0.3A has the UL symbol and under it says "LISTED", "E480515", "LPS", and "I.T.E. POWER SUPPLY". Also "...complies...Part 15...FCC Rules". It is white and the cord is integrated with it. The cord measures 1.5 meter between the microUSB connector and P/S housing. The switch is centered about 150mm up the cord from the uUSB conn. funny thing is that all I really wanted when I ordered this kit two days ago was a decent P/S (having misplaced the old one). I didn't and don't need any GPIO stuff that this one came with.To reiterate, the previous kit I bought from a different supplier (for more dough) a little over a year ago did not have the GPIO ribbon conn or extn. board, the instructions were not as clear, the housing layers needed modifyng in order to properly fit a RPi3 ModelB v.1.2, and the fasteners were plastic.Having just opened up the Amazon box with this kit just a few hours ago in 2018 while I was clambering up from doom-pit that our collective shared unique American experience was 2018, clambering up to sit here upon this scary precipice that is the edge of 2019 staring into the mist to try to see what what WILL BE, I'm totally digging this apparently excellent kit. I can't attest to it's performance or durability since it only been assembled and powered for a few hours without low power warnings while running the latest Retropie (I didn't try overclocking). The quality of everything appears to be good for this kind of thing; better than I expected, bringing a ray of sunshine into the fog which is our life of late.Exactly why am I so delighted?First of all let me say that this and everything I ever bought from Amazon I paid the same as what you would. I don't live my life to prostitute myself for cheap and/or free stuff. I only stoop to that level for intangibles. I am not inspired to review this for an implied promise of any material gain from anybody for doing so, unlike others. You know them when you read their shameful blather. So I don't have to fool myself and attempt to throw in a disclosure statement to ease any guilt. I am writing this simply because I happened to have that rare soul-less purchase experience that actually inspired my lazy self to spend two hours crafting this lame review in the hours immediately after emerging up from the dark and horrendous chasm that was 2018. Did I emerge unscathed? Possibly, but what I previously thought was unwavering pride and patriotism and faith is.. umm.. scarred,Alrighty. The price was great as of when I ordered it and the perceived quality and completeness of this kit is top-notch, plus it came in a nice handy plastic clamshell case with great instructions and a latch. You know that warm glowy happy feeling you got when you opened up the first Apple product you ever bought (and in my case, the last Apple product I'll ever buy) ... remember that? That feeling that you just opened something well presented, special and opulent?Well, THAT warm fuzzy feeling except BETTER in that in that in this situation it dawns on you that you spent LESS than the value of the product you received, and it comes with exactly what you need, no extra, pretentious fluff included......so no seemingly cool sticker to later have to scrape off the back window of your car a couple years later with a razor blade thAt evening you get home after throwing your iPhone out the window of your car and into an Indiana cornfield one muggy August day of yesteryear in disgust while driving down US33 at 45 miles an hour in moderate traffic.Yay; none of that.Oh yeah, the brand of this kit is RexQualis. Their website is that name plus .com.Laterz.

Tight fit. Otherwise a nice product.
It's okay, but it was a tight fit and I didn't care for the piece that goes right on top of the Pi having plastic right against the board (see #5 of the assemble instructions pic)I'm confused why it came in 9 pieces when it could have been easily been manufactured in 3 or even 2 pieces. It just made assembly more difficult than needed to have all those pieces. I dropped all 9 and had to resort them into the correct order.Power supply, fan, and heatsinks are awesome.

Good case and package.
The power supply unit works well, the case itself is assembled layer by layer so be sure to check the orientation of all the layers while you're assembling it. The case is held together by plastic screws and they work fairly well. I've been running my raspberry pi 3b+ in the case with the fan on for a good bit of time without thermal throttling. However, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to use the serial cable and fan at the same time. Since the fan plugs into the IO pins. Fan has 2 speed settings depending on how you orient the pinsPower cable works well, switch is useful.overall pretty happy with it.

Very cool looking case
I like the look and feel of the case. I didn't like the fact my heat sink was too tall and I had to mount the fan on the outside but not worth taking a star away from that. The heat sink I used wasn't the one in this package. It would have worked but I like my taller one. BE SURE AND REMOVE ALL THE PROTECTIVE Layers to every piece of plastic.
