Sheru's Jalebi & Sheru and the Zoo Animals

These books are absolutely wonderful! I got them for little family members--they love them--and I think I may enjoy them even more than they do. The stories are fun, playful, and simple. The illustrations are excellently done, incredibly attractive and gripping. The Gurmukhi, English translation, and English transliteration line up most of the time on a page, which makes it easy to match up words across languages. A BIG plus point of these story books is that the English transliteration is easy to read. They will make sense to a person who is familiar with the Panjabi language but maybe not Gurmukhi script. I plan to give a copy as a gift to a child of a family friend soon. I HIGHLY recommend these books to adults and children who are learning to read and/or speak Panjabi, as well as tp those just looking for a quick and engaging story to read!

These books are hard to fine and when you do their real pricey. I received several wonderful books for a price that I could afford, that my grandson enjoys. Good Job Thank you!!

Great stories, I wish there were more books like this for my daughter to learn Punjabi. She always wants to read about the Jalebi

A fun book - lovely pictures, kids will enjoy it.

This was a very cute book! My 2.5 year old bilingual son likes it a lot. The jalebi story is much nicer than the zoo story; I would purchase the Jalebi story again all on it’s own!

Fun book to read in our Punjabi School class!

We absolutely love these books! My children were enchanted with the stories and the illustrations are wonderful. It's a great way to practice some common Punjabi words, but also written in English too. I have given so many of these as gifts to friends ( including those who don't speak Hindi/ Punjabi) and all have found that their children loved the stories and pictures. Can't wait for more books !! I have also seen these in local libraries and schools which I guess is a good sign!
