Great 3rd party alternative for continues power to your camera.
I just received this unit and tested with my camera. It works perfectly fine and there are no issues.I have seen several negative reviews about this product (KAPAXEN Power Adapter) and I thought how is it possible, some people really give 5 stars and some others give only 1 star? I also read the reviews of the lower scores. These are my findings:- The unit is well built. The manufacturer probably did not use the most expensive molds for the plastic parts; however it does not cause any cosmetic or functional problems.- The input to the camera reads 7.91 volt. I compared it to a reading from an actual battery (fully charged), and I was getting 8.10. So from voltage perspective the unit seems to be safe for the camera.- Both the power adapter and the battery-shaped-connection-unit, which is inserted into the camera, are fairly lightweight. There is no reason for these units to be heavy. We are not dealing with 70s technology any more.- Packaging of this product is fairly basic, a cardboard box with zero marketing material on it. All the components come in plastic bags in the box so that they don't get scratched during transportation.- The unit does not come with a manual. So, you need to refer to your camera manual to connect this unit. However, it comes with instructions about where you can find the instructions for different models of Canon. I think it is clever, prevents a lot paper waste. Nobody needs another manual if the information is out there.- You really need to understand how to connect this unit to the camera. Reading your camera manual is probably a good idea. Rushing or pre-judging the unit will not do you any good. So, read your manual before using it.- I agree with other reviewers that Canon's design on external power source connection on high end models is a joke. They could have provided an input socket on the side of the camera along with other sockets.- The connection of the outlet cable (from the wall) to the power adapter needs to be tighter. It doesn't come off, but it is not as tight as I experienced with other adapters. It is possible that it is intentionally made that way, possibly to prevent accidents if somebody gets tangled during use.So I came to following conclusion:- The unit is reasonably priced. Yes, it could be a little cheaper!- It works just fine with no camera errors, or other funny business.- I think some of the negative reviews are made up, potentially written by people who have special interest in promoting Canon made accessories and trashing third party products.- It is possible that quality control during manufacturing is not top notch, like 0% fault. If you get a bad unit, just a get replacement.I will continue to use the unit and provide feedback regarding its long-term realibility. Thanks

Fails after 90 minutes. Totally unreliable. Do not buy!
I cannot recommend this AC power adapter. I was doing an all day studio style shoot with a 70D. The camera was stationary, on a tripod, in video mode, using the screen. After 90 minutes, I noticed the camera felt warm by the battery compartment. Not hot but noticeably warm. The room temperature was 66 degrees. Then I noticed the battery indicator levels started going down, even though I'm on AC power. That was odd, right. After 2 hours the camera would randomly turn off and then on again. Very odd. Then 1 time it failed to turn on and the top display was showing "Err". The display would also flash the battery empty sign. This would be remedied by disconnecting the power cables from the brick that ships with this adapter. Upon plugging the power cables back into the brick, the camera would power on normally. In 15-20 minutes, the problems would repeat. Luckily, these issues only happened between shots. For reliability and professionalism, bite the bullet and spend 5x more and get the Canon brand ACK-E6. I'm freaking out that I may have damaged a one thousand dollar camera by using a poorly made twenty five dollar Chinese AC adapter. That's just great. I sure do feel stupid. The camera seems ok and operates normally with the stock battery installed. Hopefully I'm in the clear. I've initiated a return.

Item arrived and it didn't work. Contacted seller, ...
Item arrived and it didn't work. Contacted seller, asked why and I explained the battery insert didn't communicate nor power up at all. He agreed it was faulty and rather than refund me, replaced unit altogether at no extra charge. Arrived quickly and this one works perfectly. I'm a little behind schedule but got what I was looking for. Thanks.

why waste over $100+ on one when you can get this
My go to adapter... why waste over $100+ on one when you can get this!? The cord is a little shorter than the original Canon adapter but for this price, it's well worth it. I carry a spare in my backpack just in case and can afford to do so because it's such a deal!

Didn't work with 5D or 7D out of the box
I decided to take a chance on this item despite a few negative reviews. I own the 5D MKIIIand the 7D. I figured the 7D would be able to utilize the device if the MKIII did not work. Right out of the box the device fails to power any of my DSLRs. In fact I'm wondering if the device is even receiving power at all. One star out of five.Delivery, however was fast and hassle free.

Garbage.. Fake..Cheap. Does not Work at All
I just received this product. This product absolutely does not work; I'm a pro Int'l photographer and have a Canon 60D as a backup camera with a very peculiar problem. So when I saw this product as a solution..then hey i jumped. I reviewed on several mix opinions so i decided to give it a try. Is totally fake.. connectors are all incorrect..and cheap made (China Of course) . DO NOT FALL LIKE I DID.J.

Good power adapter, Great price!
Seems to work just as advertised. Much cheaper than the Canon alternative! I'm very satisfied with the results. More words...

Have it working with a Canon 60D
as others have noted, the camera will tell you it "won't communicate" with the camera, but seems to power the camera after accepting it.
