Purple rainbows
This is a very good album, heavily influenced in places by Deep Purple and Rainbow (obviously - JLT sang for both of them), but showcaseing a heavier side of JLT not as apparent in his previous bands. There's quite a bit of gravel in the voice, as well as the well trained diaphragm, and it makes interesting listening. There's also a lot of hammond organ (yippee!), and some superb guitarwork from Andy Timmons, Al Pitrelli, and newbie Akira Takasaki (?spelling?) who can apparently take off Richie Blackmore like no-one else.A good buy.
