Nice enough flashlight. Batteries are junk.
Seems to be a nice enough flashlight. But the batteries that came with it are junk. Rated at 2200mAh but proof out at less than 1100mAh at a drain rate of only 500mA, far below the demands of this light. Another area I fought this light is that it requires button-top cells. My high-cap flat-tops don't work in it. They could have bubbled the positive contact ring to accommodate either cell type, but they didn't. Most high-capacity 18650's are flat-top.The power level indicator is kind of silly. It appears to be numeric and one would assume it can vary from 1 to 9. But it's all for show. This light has high, medium, and low, plus a slow strobe that would ineffective for stun but would suffice for signaling. As far as actual light output, I haven't yet measured it, but it bright enough for my intended purposes for this device. Maybe with better batteries it would be brighter, but it doesn't appear to be 10,000 lumens. Again, I haven't yet measured it so...If you plan to charge it via the built-in USB charging port and supplied cable, plan to let it charge overnight at least.Would I recommend? Yes, but plan to buy better batteries and an external charger.

You can buy a better light, but not for this price.
First of all, don't expect any miracles. if you're looking for a 4x18650 flashlight, $30-40 will buy the very basic. High quality lights of this size cost well in excess of $100. The least expensive Cree XM-L LEDs cost $2.3 in lots of 1000. High quality 18650s are also far from cheap. I can't say that Semlos is a particularly good flashlight, but it is OK for the money. I don't think you can find anything better without spending more. I like this flashlight because it has a built in charger, a battery level indicator and doesn't have the annoying strobe mode. The light output is somewhere close to a more expensive flashlight rated at 3000 lumen. It is plenty bright. The batteries are capable of 1600mAh. The cheapest ones you can buy can't even hold 400mAh, at least you're not getting those here. I like this flashlight because it has a built in charger, a battery level indicator and doesn't have the annoying strobe mode. The light output is somewhere close to a more expensive flashlight rated at 3000 lumen. It is plenty bright. There are 3 brightness modes. I'd recommend to click through the lowest one to reduce the risk of overheating the LEDs. The heat dissipation on this light is weak- a better one would require more complex metal work and a copper heat sink. The aluminum body has o-rings everywhere. I'm reluctant to drop the light under water for testing, but it does provide at least some degree of water protection.Considering the low price, I could even give the light 5 stars if not for the design of the charging port cover. Both the screw and the pull tab are annoyingly getting under my finger.

Very Bright!
If you have never owned one of these 'soda can' flashlights, you are missing out. As you can see by my video, they are BRIGHT!! Fits nicely in your hand, comfortable to use. Has an LED readout that tells which mode you are on and also how full the batteries are. Comes with 4-18650 batteries, they seem to have good capacity. The biggest difference in this flashlight from others, is that it has a built in charging port that takes a plain old USB cable. Charge it with your phone charger if you want!! Did I mention VERY BRIGHT?! If you are a flashlight-aholic like me you will LOVE it.

AWESOME Flashlight!!!!!
I really like flashlights....maybe too much. I have many LED lights and wanted one that uses the same rechargeable lithium 18650 batteries as my electronic cigarette. I am tired of running out of alkaline batteries. This flashlight is my absolute favorite. It is ridiculously bright, the sliding beam focus is easy to use, and the range of the beam pattern is awesome. It goes from a narrow beam that actually shows the image of the square diodes on the wall to a room sized circular pattern that is unmatched in any other light I own. The wide beam projects an even level of light across the entire lighted area, not like most flashlights that have a hot spot in the center and gradually dim to the edge of the patter. This will also fit on many weapon attachments so it could be mounted to a shotgun if needed. I would definitely recommend this and will be buying more.

QUALITY ---HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT --- fare price -- bells and wissles included
I have over 50 high quality flash lights this one came out tied for first with 3 other similar lights. It's stand out feature is its internal charger but it only charges at a rate of 850 mill amps so if you have 4 discharged batteries it could take 10 to 15 hrs. to charge . It does put out 10,000 lumens on high but heat is a big issue with all of them . At 160 deg. on the outer case after one hour ,no way can you touch it the upper limit for your skin is about 120 deg. ,so you get the point high is only used for a few min. even medium will develop 129 deg. after one hour. Low on the hand never reaches above 108 deg. and will still put out about 4000 lumens and your battery life is now ( 6 hours ) but on high you only get ( 1.5 hours ) . My only complaint is the strobe effect is to slow .It needs to blink at a much higher rate to disorientate an attacker ! Because this light comes with batteries of good quality 2200 mAh and not some bogus 900000000 mah junk, it gets my top rating. ---by HERB THE POWERMAN---
