Very effective trap, easy to load and clean
This product worked very well for our home and yard. After seeing quite a few yellow jackets and wasps this summer, but not seeing any nests or other sources, these traps made sense to catch whatever was flying around. We used three around the yard to provide overlapping coverage. The traps were easy to fill with attractant and hang outside. Definitely take care when loading the attractants into the traps to not get any on you or your clothes - you don't want to become a target! Wash hands and skin thoroughly before taking the traps outside.Once set up, the first yellow jacket was caught inside within 5 minutes, and the trap kept attracting them for 2+ weeks. With the trap design, winged insects can't get out given their general movement/flying behavior. It was interesting to watch, from a distance with binoculars, how the insects would circle the trap for a bit, then head right into it.After the attractant wore off and it seemed like no new insects were being caught, emptying the trap (outside) was easy. Do make sure that there's nothing alive inside before opening it for cleaning, that's not a pleasant surprise when something flies out. I wore gardening glove to avoid any possible contact with stingers. Shake everything out, maybe use the garden hose to give it a quick rinse, then reload it with fresh attractant.I also pre-ordered replacement packs to make sure there were always some on hand. The trap worked great all summer long, and caught hundreds of yellow jackets, and some wasps. Hopefully, I can start using it in early spring and maybe that will help reduce overall numbers during the summer, too.

Not a good product
This product does not work! We have been using it now for over one month and during that time it has not attracted any wasps or flies. The three containers I ordered are EMPTY. No bugs trapped at all. I would highly suggest that you not purchase this product, it was a waste of money! I would give it no stars if that was an option. Our backyard is full of wasps and flies. We are now looking at other options. I would really want to have a full complete refund of my money spent. Worst purchase ever!!!!!

It works, only when I add double sided tape!
At first this kind of worked. I noticed that I’d catch a bald faced hornet only to see it eventually gone. They escaped easily. So then I applied double sided tape on the mesh part. Lo and behold, no more escaping. I’ve only had this out for a couple of days and I’ve already caught a couple. It’s early in the season so I want to get ahead of a nest infestation.I also recommend setting it up early in the morning. I’ve made the mistake of doing so on a warm afternoon and was dive bombed by yellowjackets. I suppose this also proves that the attractants do indeed work.

Completely ineffective here in Northern Illinois - UPDATE - Now working....
I placed one of these on a shepherd's hook in place of a hummingbird feeder that was being swarmed with yellowjackets. Figured it was a sure thing. After two days not one single insect has entered the trap. Bought three of these. Ugh..UPDATE- After a few days. something changed today and wasps and yellowjackets are now entering the trap. Maybe the attractant is too strong at first? Or perhaps too hot before? Happy to finally see some results.

Does not attract wasps/mud divers
Seems to do well with attracting yellow jackets but has not done anything to help trap and kill the many wasps and mud divers always flying around my back porch and nesting under it. They don’t seem to be attracted to this at all. Not sure if those types of wasps need something different or what but that is what we purchased these for and yet we still have the same problem!

Thought they were a failure, but figured it out!
The media could not be loaded. This is an update to a short negative review saying these didn’t work. First off, I was very hopeful about them, and was initially disappointed after trying one and it not working at all. I started a return for the three I purchased, but then I decided to fully read the directions again. My issue was that I had hung it where it eventually got full sun during the course of the day. That’s a big no-no. I then hung the other two new ones in the a much more SHADED areas in the trees. I just hung them on some short branches. Both of them are now filled with yellow jackets! (For those of you that don’t know, yellow jackets may attack unprovoked, and their stingers don’t come off so they can sting repeatedly. Also, they send out a signal to the others and they can swarm and attack in a group, so be very careful around them. Best time to hang traps is nighttime or very early morning before it gets light.) The traps each come with three different types of attractants- one small packet and one larger packet filled with liquid, and a tiny vial of liquid. The little packet is poured onto a piece of absorbent material that fits into the bottom chamber. The larger packet gets mixed with water in the upper chamber, and a tiny vial gets opened and clipped in the upper chamber above the height of the water solution. Again, I put two in the shaded trees but the third I put on a table on our patio. That one is collecting a fee bees a day, but it eventually gets full sunlight in the afternoon, so it’s not filling up as quickly as the others. I hope this review helps in understanding how to get them to work. :)

Doesn't work
Placed one of these on my back deck after following directions and baiting trap. A week goes by and wasps and hornets still all around yard and none in trap. Let it go for another week, then pulled the second in a package of three out and very carefully read the directions and baited another and replaced the first one. A week later, nothing in the trap and there is a wasp nest around six feet from the trap at almost the same level as the trap near the ceiling of the deck. Complete waste of money. Do not buy.
