Mike Maloney should be the Secretary of the Treasury!!!
In the last few years I had sensed a change in the world that has made me uneasy. I found out about Ron Paul and his view on the path the United States was on and it really opened my eyes. I looked into Austrian Economics and found much of it easy to understand and very credible, then I looked into Paul Krugman and Ben Bernanke and realized that they are complete charlatans. I was watching Capital Account with Lauren Lyster and saw her interview Michael Maloney. I was VERY impressed by the his depth of understanding not only in precious metals but in monetary history and present day economics. The book is not a nuts and bolts manual to buying pm's, as Mike himself says it is mostly monetary history. He shows with charts and hard figures, that this fiat currency system has been used time and again, and that EVERY time it has ended VERY badly. Mike obviously knows a great deal about the subject but what he says is actually very simple;fiat currencies are fraudulent and very susceptible to abuse and their abuse has been growing exponentially from 1971. The last few years have witnessed an epidemic of government growth and spending coming solely from printing money. This "printing" money is a misnomer, Mike explains that this money will come from our labor in the future. So the book actually exposes something I find even more alarming than the transfer of wealth from the middle class to the banking elite. It is exposes what is in essence slavery, the banks and the government get some of our very real labor and talent for free. I have made it my mission to tell my family and friends to buy physical silver and gold. I must admit it is an uphill battle, as most of them are in complete denial and look at me like I'm a conspiracy nut. Well, I am making two lists as I speak with everyone, the first: "I told you." the second "I told you so." My thanks to Mike for putting me on his "I told you " list"!!

Read this book NOW.
Wait a second. Don't read this book now. First buy all the gold coins or bullion that you can because there isn't any time to waste. Then, read the book and you'll understand why your purchase was so urgent and so wise.As I write this, the spot price for gold is pushing $900 per ounce. I got into gold about $20 ago. Although I already understood a lot of the things this book explains, I had always put the purchase of gold on the back burner because I never really connected all the dots. However, when the current credit crisis happened and the government began talking about a Trillion dollar bailout (of course, it will cost at least 3 times that - it always does), I knew that the unavoidable result would be a devaluation of the dollar. Therefore, in order to preserve the value of my dollars, I transferred them into gold. I THEN read Michael Maloney's book.If I had been able to see the big picture as I now understand it after reading his book, I would have bought gold years ago and been way ahead of the game at this point. However, I don't regret my delayed entry into gold because I now UNDERSTAND that when it comes to the devaluation of our currency and the resulting increase in the price of gold, "we ain't seen nothing yet". So, even if the price of gold is $1,500 or $2,000 per ounce by the time that you read this, buy it anyway because that price is still only the beginning. I am not saying that you are going to profit by owning gold (although you probably will), I am saying this because your dollars MUST continue to decrease in value. If this sounds confusing, don't worry. After you read the book you will completely understand what I am saying. One last thing. This is NOT one of those doomsday books. It is an intelligent, logical presentation of facts which gives YOU the knowledge and tools to come to your own conclusions EVEN when the financial forces that drive the economy change and require a different investment strategy. Once you understand this, you will not need someone else to tell you what to do, you will be able to decide for yourself the best course of action because you will understand what CAUSES things to happen in the economy. It has never been so true that "knowledge is power".

Good information, but read it with a grain of salt
I read this book because I was interested in learning how to invest in metals without getting hosed. For that, I recommend the book "Stack Silver Get Gold". This book reads more like a history lesson on money and monetary policy and a sales pitch on why you need to invest in metals. The history was fascinating and laid out a convincing case against central banking shenanigans. However, it did stray too far at times into sales pitch territory, not being entirely truthful to the reader in order to sell more metal (and the author does have a financial interest in selling you metal, on his website if you'd like!). For example, the section where he compares the performance of gold versus the S&P 500 over the long run was laughable. He tells a story comparing two families over most of the 20th century, one family starts with a share of a stock index and one starts with some gold. The family with the gold manages to trade back and forth between gold and stocks, timing the market perfectly at every cycle. The family with the stocks just holds it, but apparently doesn't reinvest the dividends, so at the end of the story he's only comparing price appreciation. And he uses this to argue that gold is a better investment than stocks. LOL. I agree that holding a small percentage of your portfolio in metals is a good idea as a hedge against the unexpected, but I think the author goes a bit overboard.

Excellent book on financial systems. Requires some efforts to understand but it all worth it.

Excellent guide to gold and silver investing
Although the most recent version of the book dates to 2015, it is very relevant today and is the most complete guide you will need if you are thinking of buying gold and/or silver. Full of relevant information, facts and figures without being too technical or long-winded.

Guide To Investing in Gold & Silver: Protect Your Financial Future
Quizas el papel del libro podría haber sido de mejor calidad, da la sensación de tener un libro baratero en las maños.

Nice one
It is a good book for the ones who are begginners in metals investment. Dividing the book in three simple sections: Why silver and gold prices will rise up and why to save on them, the possible future or predictions of gold and silver prices and the inevitable faith of currency, and finally how to invest in precious metals and do's and dont's while investing on them.Still, I think that the book has a plenty of investing terms that freshers in these things would feel confused. Anyway, I think the book is driven to convince beginners (not newbies) that gold and silver are the best way to save for the future.

A book that can save your life!!!!
This book not only explains you how to invest but how the Fiat Money System works and how we got screwed by the banks and our governments. A must read for every person that sees herself/himself as an educated human being.
