KANE'S BIG NIGHT
Money In The Bank was one of WWE's best ppv's of the year. If your a big Kane fan like me, this is a must have ppv. First Kane starts the show on a high note by winning the Smackdown Money In The Bank ladder match. The Miz winning the Raw MITB match was a suprise (all to rare in WWE). The World title match between Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger was the best one on one match on the card with lots of back and forth action, and a come from behind win by Misterio. Jack Swagger's post match beating of Rey Mysterio was interupted by Kane who chased Swagger away. At first it looked like Kane was just helping Rey Misterio, until kane came back to the ring with his MITB case, and cashed it in for a title shot, just an hour after winning the Smackdown MITB match. It would take Kane just couple of minutes to finish off an injured Rey Mysterio to win the World heavyweight title. The steel cage match between WWE champion sheamus and John Cena was kind of slow with a lame fininsh specificly interference by Nexus. Although Money In The Bank did not end as well as it started, overall with two MITB matches, Mysterio / swagger, and Kane FINALLY winning another World title this was WWE's best effort since Wrestlmania.

Money in the Bank 2010
I was a little weary about purchasing this event, but it turned out to be pretty decent. I found it much better than Fatal-4-Way, and just as good as Extreme Rules. As for the cover of the disc, who cares?Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder MatchKofi Kingston vs. Christian vs. Kane vs. Big Show vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Matt Hardy vs. Cody RhodesProbably the strongest choice for an opener that could've been chosen. I think we can give credit to all of the competitors in this match. There were a lot of high risk spots, and some new innovation that we've never seen in these matches before. Watch for the Big Show to break a couple of the rungs on the ladder, and then introduce one of the most interesting structures the WWE has over come up with. My only complaint, and this goes for the RAW ladder match as well, is that there are a couple of missed spots, and random flurries of offense. Someone will get in ring, act like they're about to take the briefcase, and then someone will magically come in the ring to stop them.. then they won't be seen for another 5 minutes. I like the idea of getting a lot of superstars into this match, but a little more thought should go into that. Overall it was a very entertaining ladder match.Diva's Title:Alicia Fox vs. EveThis was definitely the stronger of the two, yes TWO, diva matches of the night. And actually, it was pretty decent, even for Alicia Fox's standards. She usually oversells the moves way too much, but manages to put together a pretty strong, well thought out match here. The women are actually given some time to work, and they deliver a very watchable contest.Unified Tag Team Titles:The Hart Dynasty w/ Natalya vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso w/ TaminaThe Usos were introduced right after Wrestlemania, were given a pretty quick push, put together a decent rivalry with the Hart Dynasty, lost this match, and are now never really used. The match is kept on the shorter side, but each competitor, even Natalya and Tamina, manage to get some decent time in, and make this into a nice tag match. The match gets very little crowd heat until Smith locks in the sharpshooter at the closing of the match. Definitely something I would watch again.World Heavyweight Title:Rey Meysterio vs. Jack SwaggerI think adding Jack Swagger to the main event picture was one of the best decisions WWE made in 2010. The man really adds a lot of psychology to his matches, and it works extremely well here with Meysterio. Rey does a great job of selling the ankle injury, and really helps pushing Swagger over. The match is filled with a number of well executed counters and holds. Despite one botch on Swagger's part, it is nearly a perfectly wrestled and very convincing match. The ending is enough to get on your nerves as right after you've seen a great World Title match, Kane comes out and cashes in his contract to take the strap from Rey. This would account for the beginning of one of the worst storylines in WWE history between Kane and the Undertaker. Very strong match between Meysterio and Swagger though.Women's Title:Layla w/ Michelle McCool vs. Kelly Kelly w/ TiffanyThis was the lowest point of the night. Layla and Kelly Kelly do not belong in title matches. Layla's constant screaming is super annnoying, and Kelly is very soft in the ring. There aren't as many botches as you might expect from these two, but the action is unconvincing and very typical. This should have been saved for Smackdown, and the time given to the earlier diva match or the tag match.RAW Money in the Bank Ladder Match:Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Mark Henry vs. The Miz vs. John Morrison vs. Evan Bourne vs. Edge vs. Ted DiBiase w/ MarysePick your favorite one. This was just as good as the Smackdown match from the opener. There are a lot of creative spots throughout the whole contest. One particularly strong thing about this match was the clashing of different styles. Evan Bourne adds a lot to the match, bringing his unique offense to the ladders. Usually you would think Henry would be a DUD in this type of match, but is actually used pretty well here. There are a couple of really sick falls and hits on Morrison and Jericho as well. Look for Maryse attempt to climb the ladder, pretty funny I guess. Overall this had a number of close calls and high spots. The Miz wins, woo.WWE Title Cage Match:Sheamus vs. John CenaNothing too creative goes on here, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Sheamus and Cena work well together in the main event, and even a PG rated cage match seems to not disappoint. It's nothing that you've never seen before, but it's nice to see a fresh face in the main event, and the crowd gives it a lot of their attention. The two had a good tables match together, and add this to their list of very solid encounters. I think the World Title match and the two Money in the Bank ladder matches will ultimately overshine this one, but it's still a strong piece that's definitely worth a look.I wasn't expecting too much when this PPV was introduced, but got more than I bargained for. Aside from one weaker match, the card has plenty of innovation, and some strong, technical wrestling. You can find this one for around $10.00, so it's definitely something I'd pick up.

The Big Red Machine Goes To The Bank
SmackDown Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Kane vs. Big Show vs. Matt Hardy vs. Christian vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler - As expected in a multiman ladder match, this was full of crazy moments & spots such as everyone went after the two biggest threats in the match right from the start in Kane & Show, Christian hip tossing Dolph Ziggler off the top of a ladder, Cody shoving Christian off a ladder & having him take out Big Show in the process, the spanish commentary table not making it through the first match thanks to Kofi Kingston, and Big Show doing a big splash on top of a ladder...with Christian & Matt Hardy underneath it. Big Show had a chance early in the match to climb a normal ladder but ended up breaking one of the steps & ended up destroying more of them out of fustration so he eventually pulled out his special re-enforced ladder that was so large & heavy that it took him a while to just get it in the ring leaving room open for Cody to go after Show's injured leg before delievering a memorable dropkick onto Kofi Kingston who was climbing the ladder. This new ladder was so heavy that nobody else was able to move it when Show was on it until Kane was able to tip it over & toss Show to the outside where he was buried underneath every single ladder in sight by everyone else. Kane then went on a rampage taking out the other competitors one by one including ramming Cody Rhodes into the back of an armored truck & chokeslamming Kofi Kingston ontop of the ladders that Show was buried under on his way to becoming SmackDown's Mr. Money In The Bank. This match was the quality you would expect with Show's personal ladder being a nice addition to the match.Divas Champion Alicia Fox vs. Eve Torres - This match was pretty short & sweet but nothing special but I'll give them both credit in telling a story regarding Fox working over Eve's back throughout the entire match & having that be a huge factor in the end.Unified Tag Team Champions Hart Dynasty vs. Usos - This was another match that was pretty short as they only went around 5 mins. so there wasn't enough time for this to match the 6 person tag they had the previous month but it was a solid contest.World Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger - For weeks leading up to this match, Swagger has been perfecting the anklelock submission hold and used it to injure Mysterio's ankle so Rey wasn't 100% coming into this match which had Swagger attempt to go after his ankle right away with Rey using his speed to keep avoiding Swagger & at one point did a high risk move onto Swagger on the outside but ended up hurting his ankle in the process. Swagger was able to work on Rey's ankle with various moves like a modified kneebar & even countering the West Coast Pop into the anklelock while Rey still put up a fight with moves like delievering a top rope DDT onto Swagger and even stealing a page out of Eddie Guerrero's old playbook to retain his championship. However the night wasn't over for Rey as everyone thought he came out to save Rey from a post-match attack from Swagger but only for Kane to not only become the fastest person to cash in his case but when it was all said & done...the only person to win the WWE, ECW and the now World Heavyweight Championship while being in under the WWE banner.Womens Champion Layla vs. Kelly Kelly - Layla came to ring with Michelle McCool while Kelly had Tiffany in her corner. This was the only real flop of the night as these two girls did the "typical Diva match" while the only highlight here was McCool getting knocked off the barrier & getting a laugh at the "Wembley Stadium" reference from Matt Striker when it came to the finish. Luckly this was the shortest match of the night (around 4 mins.) but I have to warn you that you may want to watch this one mute as Striker was just talking too much to the point where it got on my nerves.RAW's Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Evan Bourne vs. John Morrison vs. Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry vs. The Miz vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge - This match was different than the earlier ladder match in that it had more brawling in the match but still had various moments such as Mark Henry "parting the red sea" with two ladders, Maryse making an attempt to climb the ladder, John Morrison having an innovative way to get on the ladder to stop Edge & eventually getting trapped between an open ladder, Mark Henry delivering various World's Strongest Slams along with Randy Orton giving out RKO's out of nowhere, Henry dropping Miz on top a ladder...that was on top of Chris Jericho, Henry being taken out thanks to a series of signature moves, up to 5 men climbing up a ladder at once, Orton delivering an RKO right before being on the recieving end of Air Bourne, Edge's nasty fall off a ladder onto another open ladder...that was upside down, and the aftermath with Miz winning the match but breaking character by getting real emotional. Eventhough this match was different than the one earlier, this still delievered.Steel Cage Match: WWE Champion Sheamus vs. John Cena - This match had a more "serious" approach to it than most of Cena's normal matches as they started the match off slow & seemed to be more calculated with their attacks against each other as the cage was used as a weapon various times, first by Sheamus & then Cena. The pace did pick up over time but never really reached to the climax point eventhough there were dueling chants from the crowd & both men even kicked out of each others finishing moves. As expected, just based off the prematch video alone, the Nexus did arrive & come after both men but it just happened to be that they weren't able to hold off Sheamus longer than they did Cena. This wasn't a bad match but just had so many negatives in that it couldn't follow the previous two ladder matches, what happened in the short time between Cena & Nexus was more aggressive than anything we saw in the entire cage match, and after Nexus for weeks was looking like the most dominate force in WWE...they were booked to look completely weak here as Cena took out various members afterwards along with the fact that even the referees stood up to them & even stole away their bolt cutters at one point. Again, not a bad match but this is the same way I felt about their tables match in that it went too slow for me at times and didn't pick up enough pace for my taste. In the end, the only real bad match on here was the Womens Championship as (of course) both ladder matches were highlights here while everyone else put on solid performances as this is probably the best PPV since Extreme Rules or even WrestleMania so this is definately one I would check out.

The weakest Money in the Bank event, but still enjoyable.
This DVD contains the full 2010 Money in the Bank event on a single disc. The bonus features are just two short interviews, one with Kane and one with the Nexus.Big Show vs. Kane vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. Dolph Ziggler - The opening match was the first of two Money in the Bank Ladder matches. This one was for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. It was a good match with a few memorable moments. There were the usual dangerous looking bumps and some innovative spots. Big Show brought out an enforced ladder, that was almost too heavy for him to get in the ring, and the second half of the match took place around that. There was some good psychology in there as the smaller men in the match teamed up on a few occasions to take out the much larger Big Show and Kane. It did feel a bit long for a Money in the Bank match, I'd say it was maybe five minutes longer than it needed to be. It was still an entertaining opener though and a good start to the show.Eve Torres vs. Alicia Fox - This was for Fox's WWE 'Divas' Championship. It takes place during possibly the worst time for women's wrestling, at least in recent memory. That showed here unfortunately. To their credit there was some ring psychology as Fox constantly went after Torres' lower back. The action just wasn't that interesting and neither woman was very good in the ring. Thankfully it was short. I did like the psychology of targeting the back and the finish was decisive but the match just wasn't that good. It was still probably Fox's best match though. The Hart Dynasty vs. The Usos - This was for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. It was a good back and forth match. The action was entertaining and both teams worked well together. It built to a strong and decisive finish. It wasn't the amazing match that I know these two teams are capable of though. It was a bit short for that and was missing something to take it to the next level. It was enjoyable to watch but it wasn't anything particularly memorable.Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger - This was for the World Heavyweight Championship. Rey Mysterio was defending the title here and was going in with an ankle injury. It was a very good, back and forth match. It had good psychology as Swagger spends the match going after Rey's injured ankle. Mysterio came back when he could and tried to protect his ankle and end the match as quick as possible. It had some good drama around the ankle and some good near-falls. I enjoyed the finish which paid tribute to one of Eddie Guerrero's most famous wins. It was the best none-ladder match on the show. After the match the Money in the Bank winner made an appearance.Layla vs. Kelly Kelly - This was for the WWE Women's Championship. It was unfortunately worse than the 'Divas' Championship match from earlier in the night. Layla had a good character but wasn't exactly known for her great matches and Kelly Kelly is just awful. Some of the action was ok, some of it was bad, none of it was interesting. It had a decisive finish and the right woman won but there was nothing else good about this.Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Mark Henry vs. The Miz vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Evan Bourne vs. John Morrison - This is the second of two Money in the Bank Ladder matches and this time it was for a WWE Championship shot. I think this was better than the other Ladder match but they were pretty close. The first had more psychology and story to it whereas this one had more creative spots. There were various, scaffold-like structures made of ladders that they ended up making on a couple of occasions and while they did feel a bit convoluted they didn't hurt the match. The action was constantly entertaining and it was about the right length. Probably the best thing on the show.John Cena vs. Sheamus - This was a Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship, it was also the main event. It wasn't a bad match but it didn't feel like main event quality action either. It was a match that built up slowly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The action wasn't especially exciting. There was nothing wrong with it but it wasn't that memorable either. Sheamus spends a lot of the match slowly trying to wear down Cena with rest holds. There are some entertaining moments in there and I could easily watch it again but it wasn't anything special either. I feel like if this match took place in the late 80s or early 90s it would be considered a great match. These days though, it just doesn't live up to the main event quality that we expect. It's finish wasn't great as it involved the Nexus running down and getting involved. Cage matches are designed to keep a match down to just the wrestlers in the ring so it's always a shame when they end up with outside involvement anyway. Also I wasn't a fan of the Nexus angle so that didn't help my enjoyment of the finish. Overall I think I liked the match but it could have been much better. This was a decent show overall. There are some good matches and moments, but also some that aren't so good. The main event wasn't particularly good and a few under-card matches were either bad or forgettable. The two Money in the Bank Ladder matches delivered entertaining action and the Jack Swagger/Rey Mysterio fight was very good. If you're looking to buy this event you'll get some enjoyable wrestling but it is probably the weakest of all the Money in the Bank pay-per-views.

Brilliant, brilliant event! The best of 2010!
From WrestleMania to (now) its own pay-per-view, Money in the Bank is one of the most downright enjoyable pay-per-views WWE has put on in ages. So many great storylines continue and escalate throughout, and there are several great bouts with fantastic outcomes. Both MITB ladder matches are classic in their own right, with superb innovation, thrilling offense and exceptional performances from all involved. The outcomes make perfect sense, and there's a huge surprise later on that truly makes the show unforgettable. Also, a thrilling World Title collision between Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger gives the undercard its depth, and there's a quality tag title match with the Hart Dynasty and the Usos to enjoy. You can take or leave the Divas matches, and the main event between Cena and Sheamus is something of a letdown, but on the whole, Money in the Bank is an outstanding show, and one that you really can't afford to miss.
