It helps
Gopro battery charges well when off. Keep in mind battery consumption depends on settings, brightness, wifi, etc.. but with most of that on, this helps prolong the Gopro's short battery life. The Gopro battery will drain, but slower. I'm confident if I had all my extra settings off, and recorded at lower specs this would perform even better.Some reviews state the plastic housing can come apart when trying to unplug this from the camera. Thanks to the heads up, I went ahead and reinforced it from the start with a small amount of super glue around the inner base seam. *CAUTION* what I did may void any warranties that may exist.* However No issues so far!

The Vilta doesn't have that much power to begin with, so..
From a full charge on both, the gimbal would run out of power with about 25% power left on the GoPro on a day's filming, so only consider this if you start filming with a low-battery GoPro in the first place.

Works great!
I am using this on a Hero 7 Black and it fits and works perfect! I know, you are wondering why use a gimbal on a 7 Black? For me its all about maintaining the horizon, not the camera shake. this gimbal works amazingly well, no issues whatsoever. this adapter allows me to charge while recording, love it, thanks!

Why didn't this come with the Vilta gimbal. It helps extending filming time on GoPro significantly while using gimbal with both attached head and body. With just the GoPro 5 attached to the removable gimbal head I was still able to film for a couple hours.

Actually, I think Vilta-G should come with this power adapter. It's a nice accessory to work with Vilta-G. It works great as it can extend my gopro's battery life. If you own a Vilta-G, I highly recommend to get this power adaptor. worth the price.

Don't Buy This Or The Gimbal It Was Designed For
Unfortunately I ended up returning the gimbal that used this accessory as two units were defective. Regarding the adapter itself, the first time I used it, it came apart. I was able to fix it with a little supper glue. I never should have to repair a brand new product. Although the gimbal and this adapter were an amazing design, they ended up being way more problem than benefit.

Works just fine with my Vilta-G and GoPro Hero 7 Black.

I decided to see if it is easy to remove it and the cover of the chartering ...
After attaching the Equipment to My Go Pro Hero 6.I decided to see if it is easy to remove it and the cover of the chartering sensor broke off.. I then had to use pliers to try to get the whole thing out.
