After couple months, it stop working now.I thought it was out of battery, so we changed new battery, but seems like new battery can only last few days, not very sure if Solar works or not. At the beginning, the sounds stopped, and then they owl head stopped turning around, after couple weeks it just competed not working anymore, so return it back.The other problem is that owl weight is too light, easily blows away. So make sure you screw it somewhere.Works the way as decrepit other than short working period.

I ordered this owl to deter aggressive squirrels who were attempting to nest and chewing up items on my 3rd floor balcony. Someone in my condo building is feeding them peanuts and one in particular, a very large male, has become so aggressive that he attempts to climb my screen door and enter my apartment. They show little fear of humans, ignoring shouts, hand-claps, slapping noises made with a yardstick, etc. They cross my balcony to get to the sliding door of the person who feeds them. I chose this owl because not only does his head swivel and eyes light up but he emits a sound that doesn't sound like an owl to me but is, nevertheless, a sound coordinated with the motion and lighted eyes. I would give this a higher rating except that the batteries which were provided are an off-brand and after just a day the owl stopped emitting its' noise. I bought an Energizer recharging system and, low and behold, the improved batteries solved that problem. I would give this a try but recommend moving it around every day to a slightly different spot to keep the critters guessing.

For the last five years there has been an upswing of squirrels chewing and destroying our outdoor Christmas lights. We got tired of having to buy new wires, so we tried peppermint oil. That worked until it would rain and wash away. I asked my sister, a nature lover, and she suggested an owl. Much like a scarecrow keeps crows away, an owl keeps away squirrels and other small “varmints”. I was skeptical, but “Hank” as we named him, really did his job! Once we put Hank out, no more squirrels- in fact, when we would see them (which was rare), they would be in the street - far away from us! Well done, Redeo!!

Had blackbirds pooping and partying around the pool. After a week this owl has taken care of the problem. Absolutely brilliant! Love it. Initially needed to leave in the sun for a day in the off position so batteries were fully charged. Impressive customer service when initial unit failed. They immediatly sent a replacement. I feel it is a quality product and seems to be well thought out. Owl should probably be repositioned occasionally, as suggested. I definitely recommend. Well worth the cost.

I said it up next to our pool and worked 2 days I check the batteries and they were dead At put it in direct sunlight so it have at least 12 hours of sunlight it never came backup then I put regular there a saw batteries in there and it worked for one day but Not working. Check the matter is again after a few days and they were dead new batteries in and nothing works now Period of Over2 weeks. Tell me defective does not work when it work to is beautiful sight but I think they should replace it . Not Worth the cost of shipping it back. Not a happy camper

I know you want to scare away squirrels but its noth worth purchasing a demon off amazon. If you have a dog, good luck. It'll hate it. All electronic parts died in 2 weeks, specifically after rain. Just buy a normal plastic one that doesn't have satan's eyes and an exorcist head. Outside of that, yeah squirrel chilled out and don't come by near as much. But just because its an owl. Not because of the electronic stuff you're paying for. That stuff doesn't last long and it's just not needed. And remember to move it around every couple days. Animals aren't that stupid...but they mostly are.

Purchased this OWL to scare away black birds that are constantly sitting on our balcony railing and furniture. The birds leave a big mess and we had hoped that this owl would scare them away. We just returned from a 2 week vacation and cannot begin to describe the mess we found. UNFORTUNATELY we cannot return the OWL because February 27 was the cutoff date. I strongly advise not purchasing this product... IT DOES NOT WORK!!!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This was a christmas gift for my mom. She loves it. It's head turns side to side. It's eyes light up red. It is motion activated. Battery powered/ solar powered. Only con is it only made owl sounds for about a week and that feture no longer works. She said it is keeping the birds from leaving suprised on her railings and that was really what she wanted it for anyway. This product was pricy and I feel the sound feture should still be working because it is not I have gave it 3 stars.
