Size:3 With QuikClot Advanced Clotting Gauze, you have the power to stop bleeding in the palm of your hand. Tested and proven through years of combat use by the U.S. Military, QuikClot can be depended on to save time when every second counts. The hemostatic gauze works on contact to stop bleeding by accelerating your body’s natural clotting process, clotting blood five times faster. This pack contains two gauzes impregnated with kaolin, a naturally-occurring mineral proven to be effective as a hemostatic agent. Inorganic and inert, kaolin is non-allergenic, making it safe and effective to use. QuikClot’s extremely absorbent gauze is flexible and pliable, easily contouring to wounds. Make QuikClot a part of your trauma pack or first aid kit so you’re prepared when emergencies occur.

Great size for a cyclist!!!
For now this is a 5 star item. I hope I DON'T get to try it out. With all the people getting hit around here by cars (at fault or not), I'm not taking chances on helping protect myself or those I bike with.....or a random stranger I have the trauma kit versions of QuickClot but they are to big for a cyclist. These are great, I can throw them in a Ziploc with the other gear and not worry about the space or weight they take up.Note: Pic of the Ziploc in my bag is after I stuffed everything into it, no problems fitting and still more room!

Too small-
The product is quality, but these are really too small to be of value.Get the 4”x 4yd version. Yes, those are more expensive of course but these will give you a false sense of having a real hemostatic dressing. If you actually need a hemostatic dressing, this won’t do the job. It’s just too small.

Works. Just works.
I'm a paramedic and we use a few kinds of Quikclot from Combat Gauze to ACSs. This stuff is exactly like the $50/pack Combat Gauze except its smaller. Works very well. And honestly I really like these smaller strips for easier packing of gunshot wounds.

One for the home, one for travel
If a member of your family is on blood thinners, these could be a life saver or could buy time until the EMTs arrive. While it may not stop a large bleed, these should help with minor surface bleeding along with direct pressure. Do not use internally (for example, a nose bleed). Also, get a good first aid book or DVD and learn the basics which could help save a life before the professionals arrive.

An Absolute Must for Everyone
First off, if you're an adventurer, or if you work in and around machines or high risk areas, this is an absolute must in your first aid kit. I carry one on person every single day. I bought these for my family to have.BUT the reason for 4 stars is:Although the seller was amazon and I used 1-day shipping, the ones I got were expired, June 2018. The expiration date is printed on the back, bottom left corner, make sure to check right after you get them. If they are new, or relatively new, the expiration date should be 3+ years into the future.I've had my accidents and this thing, as its purpose states, stops bleeding fast. Not instantly, but faster than layering gauze, taking off the blood soaked gauze, then applying more sterile gauze, and repeating. A few years back, I was hiking in the rain and slipped on a sharp rock, ripped my leg right open. I had to use both of the QuikClot gauzes and by the time rescue got to me, most of the bleeding already stopped. Yes I had to use regular gauze on top of the quik clots, but not as much as I would've needed if I didn't have these quik clots. Also saved me from spewing more blood than the traditional method of applying layers upon layers of gauze.Highly Recommended. But remember to check those expiration dates. I need to return mine and get ones that are not expired.

Proven product.
Bought this and shoved it in my med pack. Yesterday I sliced my leg open and it was a good bleeder. Grabbed one of these, with my fingers I opened the wound, shoved this gauze in and counted to 100. Then I took the picture. It never bleed after and I even walked around for almost an hour before getting it stitched up. A bit expensive but your really not thinking about that when your bleeding extensively lol.

A well proven emergency essential.
A must have at home or abroad, because sh--- happens when you really don't want it to happen. Uncontrollable leakage is NOT a very comfortable predicament, even though you have to stay calm to slow the flow, I know the feeling. Have this stuff in your vehicle, and with you abroad, because pro- active is the key to addressing emergencies.

Great for a trauma kit of first aid bag
So far as I can tell, these are exactly what they say they are - blood clotting gauze. They're smaller than I thought, but thats my fault as I didn't read the description properly. They've gone right into my trauma kit, and hopefully never have to come out. I can't speak to how well they work, as I haven't had a need for them, but the company is fairly well known and I'm confident they'll do the job if called on.
