Lucky 13 has a more broader appeal than Chris Duarte's previous projects. Lucky 13 is a more advanced Blues Rock listening experience in a progressive way due to the different elements of Blues, Jazz, and Psychedelia that Chris Duarte has implemented into his Lucky 13 songs.First song: You Know You're Wrong, has an insidious uptempo intro that kicks into a song that appears to deal with betrayal. Spectacular Rock Blues/Jazz riffs especially on the finale of the song.Most of us (Man or Woman) can relate to words on this song like: Broke my back bending over backwards just to please you...I'm running. Running like the Devil's after me. Big trouble. Touble trouble trouble you will be...You know you're wrong when you've done that crazy thing to me.Here I Come: Is about humbleness. Words are comical because we can relate to them with the events in our daily lives. For example, My eye is on the big prize. Work no time for fun...My car ain't no Hot Rod she always get's me there.The guitar solo is standard midtempo blues but it's the way that Mr. Duarte plays it that is noteworthy. Notes don't appear to be randomly chosen but distinctly felt like the song.Let It Go: Is about apparent heartache. Slow Blues with sincerely sung lyrics-Let it go and set me free. Your're no good for me...My friends see my pain. My friends tell me I got to let it go and set me free.Guitar solo sounds like it's bleeding from Mr. Duarte's heart. Most intimate sounding blues solo I have heard Chris Duarte play.The highlight of Lucky 13 is Meus Via Vita Suite. This love song is played in three parts. First part has a 60's/70's feel. Mr. Duarte sings: I'll be looking for you out my front door. Then we'll go down then make love like before. Lovely psychedelic journey kind of words and playing.Second part of Meus Via Vita Suite slams into a rocking tripping guitar instrumental. Final part ends with a blues/folk lyrical finale. Very nice and complete.The sound mix recording is exceptional. Excellent sound engineering and recording on this Chris Duarte CD. Leaves no room for hiding since every note is heard clear and set very well with other instruments.Many good songs are here and something for everyone on this Chris Duarte Lucky 13 CD. For the ladies and men.

14 tracks to Lucky 13
Just saw Chris within the past week & he did a few songs from this. I especially like the last 4 tracks as they blend together. The record starts off strong and will not disappoint a fan of his music. Track 3 (Crazy For Your Love) instrument wise, sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Chris keeps getting better with each cd. And the energy he gives to a live show is fantastic. I have been going to concerts since the mid 70's and very few people through the years deliver like him. If you pay $10 for a show he gives you $40 worth.

Love the guitar playing, don't like the special effects. So much beauty in such a complicated format. Prefer seeing the songs played live, but I do like listening to this cd.
