Automotive Mechanic Stethoscope Diagnostic Tool

Great for pinpointing an abnormal mechanical noise! A must have for ANY mechanic!

Bought this to help identify a pipe leak in my sprinkler system that was damaged by previous owners.Used the extension rod and followed the track of the pipe sticking the rod into the ground below the sod level. Was able to find leak location to within a few inches along a 50’ section of pipe, in about 10 minutes. To my surprise it was not near where I thought it was, based on sound I heard echoing up a drain pipe to the gutters. Much faster and cheaper than hiring a locator with a GPR machine to map it out and “maybe” find where all the lines crossed, then take guesses on which was the broken intersection.Simple construction and the sound tunes appear easily changed if accidentally damaged.

I guess you get what you pay for. The metal work is a bit crude and the fit in the ears is poor. You almost have to hold the ear pieces in to get the seal needed to hear through the probe. Better to spend a bit more for better quality.

This tool will help you locate a faulty moving part really quickly. There's been a loud whine in my engine area for a while, I know its a pulley but which one? There's a pulley on everything that spins, the alternator, hvac compressor, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, power steering pump pulley and of course the main engine pulley.What this tool does is it helps you locate the actual one making noise without having to check manually, which means you would have to remove your serpentine belt and spin them all by hand and sometimes that noise only comes on at high revolutions, so that method is not always helpful. With this tool, you hear the faulty one really loud, you can miss it!

Not only for engineers but also for violin makers.

The flexible tube is very short and makes it difficult to use. It doesn’t reach under the dashboard or far into the engine compartment.

I purchased to help with hearing my charging battery for my spinal when I updated! Did not work for me.

Works as it should helped me identify which pulley was making noise. Also a lot cheaper than the old lady’s stethoscope and less painful lol she gets upset when there’s grease in hers for some reason.
