Plug / Liner = is a small starter plant that is usually purchased by commercial growers to pot up, grow on, & later have avail for retail sales.... I offer up these smaller plants to all... but they are small and require more care to get going than larger plants. These are considered size #72 or size #50 in the industry... The size refers to how many growing cells in the 11" x 23" tray. This sale is for = Alocasia Alocasia Vs Colocasia - Both are similar plants Alocasia prefer much less water. Colocasia are naturally growing near ponds and wet areas so they prefer much more water. Both will go dormant For winter this is normal... Plants need to sleep just like you... If your purchase this plant in late fall - mid spring then count on it being dormant. Dormant = a plant that is in a sleep stage.. It may not have any growth showing at all.. The root or crown should be hard = indicates = it is fine. some plants may have a stem that looks dead.. as long as the crown is good then it is good.. Hosta for example completely disappears in winter but is happy to return beautiful and strong in spring once conditions are to their liking keep this plant warm - In bright light.. or little sun over winter and water lightly... - DO NOT OVER WATER while its getting established...
