Good stuff works well keeps the props pretty clean

This product is amazing and really works, I waited to write this review to see how it did this past summer and it really works!! I would purchase again and again!

I used Pettit Prop Coat Barnacle Barrier on the propeller, prop shaft and strut of my 27 ft sailboat. I followed the instructions explicitly. I launched the boat in Pensacola, Florida on March 29, 2017 and sailed it to my dock in the Santa Rosa Sound about 35 miles east of Pensacola on March 31, 2017. Today I donned my snorkel and mask to scrub the green off of the bottom of the boat. Everything looked good except the propeller, prop shaft and strut were completely covered with barnacles. That is exactly what this paint was supposed to prevent! The only work around to for this is to don my mask and snorkle and clean the prop at least monthly during the warm summer months...which in Florida run from early May thru the red of October. The reason I used this paint was to avoid that very issue. To fix it the correct way the boat needs to be pulled and something else applied the the propeller, prop shaft and strut. The cost to pull the boat and re-launch it is $420 never mind the full day it takes to get it to the marina and another full day to get it back to the dock.

One can clogged, can’t use

Two coats is a must. Good coverage. One can was just enough for two props, shafts and Rutters. 29 ft wellcraft.

Hoping to get 2 seasons of coatings from can. Hoping for minimal growth. On everything except props (2x inboards)

Petit Zinc Coat Barnacle Barrier spray paint is the only paint I have found (over 40 years) that can provide a reasonably good barrier for barnacles and other marine growth. I have been using it for probably 10+ years. I start by wire brushing my Max Prop and then spray 3 coats following the instructions on the can for wait times between successive coats. I also use it on my Vetus Bow Thruster Prop with good results.
