Excellent Product
If I knew this product existed I would have bought it sooner. I really like the fact it dramatically cut down the air blowing out the back. It does muffle the noise somewhat but not really as much as would like.

Good filter
Bought for my old RIGID big orange shop vac. Keeps the dirt from going in the in vacuum side and out the exhaust side. Main thing it kept the sheet rock dust from coming back out.

WHAT!!!?
This fit my 35 gallon vac perfect. I gave it a bad rating for suction becuse it has nothing to do with any suction on the machine. I did notice the volume go down a little bit but I think it is more deflection than muffling. I use it more as a last ditch effort to catch dust.

Ordering this new one was easier than cleaning out the old one, which was approx 6 years old.

Not a good muffler
I was disappointed that there was no noticeable reduction of noise so don’t purchase thinking it is a noise muffler. However is does a great job of reducing the exhaust air which used to create a dust storm in my little work shop. It may reduce the dust exhaust but I doubt if the foam filter is capable of catching the very fine particles.

Good for the money
I have a Ridgid shop vac with a 2 inch suction hose. It slips on the hose nice and tight but the stepdowns are not tight if you plan to join it to 1 1/2 inch or smaller PVC pipe. I guess there are ways to snug up those connections but just be aware that you will have to do that.

Bought four of them. Material is very thin and weak.

Doesn't fit larger Ridgid Shop Vacs
I have a larger Ridgid 16 gallon shop vac. All the hoses are 2 1/2 inches. This diffuser unfortunately is too small. Nothing some insulating tape and duct tape couldn't resolve.I realize it's not meant for a Ridgid, but 2 1/2inches for an outlet isn't standard apparently. My shop vac's outlets are around 3" even though the hoses are 2 1/2". This one is precisely 2 1/2" in diameter, so be aware and measure your outlets before purchasing.
