Be sure to read the instructions. I put mine together a few times before I got it right

Parts failure Reese is junk
This is a poorly designed hitchPlastic accent parts were the first to fall offThe spring for the latch indicator came off and plastic tab broke.Return springs that hold the upper section balanced both broke . Very weak Chinese made I'd bet.Final chapter of this waste of hard earned cash was the bushing or whatever used to support the release arm disappeared, thus causing the release arm to tilt and make the unit inoperable. What an expensive but pretty POS.
