Just as good as the Slime patches
I've used them both and their appearance, durability, and overall quality seem identical. The Slime combo just gives you a couple of bigger patches intended for larger vehicles (tractors etc.). I did find this product for a dollar cheaper at my LBS. It supports LBS and saves you shipping time. I'd rate the quality of this and the slime version a 10/10. I now have about 6 patches in my tube and in fact it seems stronger than ever. If you do the math patching is a lot more cost effective than purchasing a new tube, even given the fact that tubes are relatively inexpensive. I patch because it's fun, cheap, and I like putting time and effort into the repair of my bike. I'm new to patching tires but this kit has made it easy. I've now put in 200 miles on a patched tire using this kit. If my tire was to deflate tomorrow then it was all worth it. What a value!

Small price for a possible trip saver.
Didn't know it but it came with 2 kits. Small and seems to come with everything I need. Patches seem thick and comes with adhesive. I haven't used one yet and hope I don't need to. For the price it worth having just in case.

Expensive but complete and high quality
Park Tool is a mainstay in the bike repair world and this is no exception. I hear horror stories of bad patches and terrible vulcanizing compound from other brands. In my experience these are the most reliable patches and the compound never dries up in the sealed tube. I think they should include more patches but the quality is what you pay for when you get a flat miles from home in the rain.1. Find the puncture and spread compound evenly in an area larger than the patch. Wait for the compound to dry out a bit before applying the patch.2. Remove the plastic protective film and firmly press patch (With black dot facing you) into the compound you just applied.3. Continue to push the patch into the tube for a few minutes.4. Put a slight amount of air in the tube and remount in the tire.5. Carefully remount the tire to the rim without allowing the tube to get pinched between the tire and rim.6. Fill tire after mounting the wheel to the bike and continue the trip.Instruction given to me by a bike mechanic in Astoria, Oregon with decades of experience in the craft. He uses these same patches by Park Tool.

Must buy VP-1 kit to replace opened glue. So $5 per flat to make sure glue is fresh.
I have used these kits for years and they are very good for repairs I have done. (Sandpaper should be replaced with metal scraper.)That said, I have had opened glue harden on me over time, and several patches left with bad glue! Park doesn't offer glue only for sale that I am aware of. In the end to be reliable over time when glue has been opened, these are in effect "one repair" kits at $5 a pop as you can't buy tubes of glue for back up. Do you think, there might be a marketing strategy here? Park should offer packs of several tubes for back up.
