This book hits the sweet spot of many examples (in color), short and clear.There are other books such as CSS The Definitive Reference that go into more depth at 1075 pages long.This book doesn't have the depth of that, but cover the 95% that you need to know.

This book is up to date and current on Grids and everything else you could want.Really a perfect book for CSS. Author did a fantastic job..

It is more like overview of CSS, not too deep. Also had technical issues like claiming that "it is generally not recommended to use px units in css. The main reason is that these pixel based dimensions don't always scale well when users adjusts zoom level of browser". However afaik px works ok with zoom, just they don't work if you change font from the browser.
