Cheaper than most, a good purchase.
A good sturdy reacher with easy to use gripper. Very useful to reach into high shelves in the kitchen. I'm quite short so this is ideal. It's lightweight and from this company it was much cheaper than elsewhere.

Perfect if you suffer from a weak grip and need items grabbed to stay in the grabber
I don't have a very strong grip and small items sometimes dropped out of the grabber I was using previously. This item has been both a revelation and a godsend.Anything which fell onto the floor (pills anyone?) had to stay there until this gadget arrived. It's got a strong grip and once the locking mechanism has been mastered, it's easy to secure even the smallest item (again, pills anyone?) to ensure it stays gripped until it reaches the hand. To be honest, I'd be lost without it at the moment.I also bought the longer, 32" version, which is useful for reaching into more inaccessible places but for everyday use I find this length perfect for my needs. I've had absolutely no issues with poor quality so I'm very happy to recommend this product.

Cheap plastic and useless
Made of very cheap plastic. Useless for heavier items. End that grips made of flexible silicon which just slips from anything with a little weight. Tried to pick up the TV remote from the floor and proved very fiddly. Will be sending back. Will be ok if you want to pick up clothing off the floor but little else.

Fabulous Mobility Aid
I bought this for my dad. He has recently broken his back and pelvis. This grabber has been a godsend to him. He even uses it to help him put his socks on. It is much sturdier than the cheaper ones that just snap. Very good value for money. The green inside the grabber is rubber which helps grip things.

Poor grip
This gridlock device is fairly robust for the price but is unable to grip anything hard enough to safely and securely lift. The manufacturer's designer seems ignorant of the physics of leverage and mechanical advantage. The hand control moves a very short distance, certainly much less than the jaws operate. This rather like trying to start off a car in top gear. The result makes it's use quite limited. The locking mechanism is an unwanted complication that seems to have a mind of it's own. I wish I'd had the chance to try before buying and would have chosen another device.
