a HUGE upgrade
I bought the Google Pixel 8 for my partner as a gift, and it's been a huge upgrade from their old phone — truly leagues ahead in every way. The performance is incredibly smooth, the camera is sharp and vibrant, and the overall user experience has been flawless so far. I was lucky to catch it on a deal, but honestly, I would still be happy paying full price for the quality you get. I currently use an iPhone 13, and after seeing how well this phone runs, I’m seriously considering switching to the Pixel 8 or maybe the upcoming 9 Pro. Google really nailed it with this one!

Fast phone with excellent screen bit disappointing video recording quality for the price
Great screen and responsive processor, great for games like speedstorm and call of duty.Call quality is great and the call screening feature on the pixel means no more spam calls, the pixel launcher is a clean and nice interface, the best on android. The quality of photos is good too with ultra HDR capturing great colours. The negatives are a terrible finger print reader which on the pixel 10 is fixed being a sonic one rather than using a bright light on the pixel 8, any sweat on your fingers and it won't recognise for finger print. It has decent battery life and charges in an hour from 20% to full charge. On intense use of can get quite warm, this has improved with updates but could still be better.Video quality is really disappointing, in not great light it can look grainy, panning the camera and zooming in and out isn't smooth except on cinematic mode but then that restricts you to only 4k30. The iPhone is much better and is a major weakness here, if video is important don't buy this phone.

Very pleased with purchase
I was a little nervous about ordering a "Used - Very Good" phone, but very pleased with my purchase. I could see no sign of wear and tear, so very happy. All working fine and, so far, absolutely no problems. Arrived on date specified, and was well packaged.

Please enjoy this HD photo I took on my super advanced camera
I can see why this phone got good reviews. On the standard tests it performs well, it is just awful in a whole range of creative ways reviewers hand never thought of.The high resolution camera does exist, but the auto focus feature that we have all come to take for granted is so poor that you just get a high resolution images of a blurr that was meant to be your concert pic. It randomly takes mini videos, rather than a stable pictures. This happens unpredictably and cannot be turned off. This is meant to be a 'best take' feature, but all of the frames are low quality and out of focus. Why have this feature then? Well, the videos are data hungry. This means they take up more storage space on the cloud, which I have to then pay Google for. It's peretty genius from a Google shareholders point of view. The root of the problem is it is designed to capture as much data as possible for Google to feed into its AI first, and be a phone second. For example, it does it's primary function of being a phone poorly. I have testsled a variety of sim cards and phones, my pixel has consistently less network connectivity than iPhone or Samsung. I can loose signal in central London. It's like living in the 1980s without disco culture or cheap European holidays. This would not be such an issue if it weren't such a data hungry piggy of a device. Everything is stored in the cloud so Google can scrape my data, which means I have to download everything over and over again. There isn't even a photo gallery app on the phone, I have to download every single image every time I want to scroll though old photos. I take douzens of photos a week for work, so I have to pray every time I need to pull one that I have enough connectivity to access Google cloud, which I never do. Google has full access to my data, but I don't.The whole phone is set up so that you can access nothing offline. The simple act of downloading a PDF requires the patience of a highly trained yoghi combined with a computer science degree. Once you have coaxed your tiny piece personal data onto your device god help you open it, save it, or store it without reuploding to a cloud based program. You would think all this cloud computing would have left you with lots of free space and a super fast phone. You would be wrong. It often takes my brand new phone up to three seconds to open an app despite the fact the memory is all but empty. This is an activity usually measured in micro seconds, which for reference is 0.001 of a second. A Google pixel is literally thousands of times slower than my last phone which is now six years old. I asked the Google help about this. They said I could send it away and might (might) get my fixed phone back two weeks later. I asked what I was meant to do for two weeks while this happened because -like most people -I need my phone for work. They suggested I take annual leave. This of course doesn't cover the possibility that my brand new phone isn't broken, it's doing exactly what is was designed to do, which is provided the maximum value to Google and the bare minimum to me. Save your money, buy anything else instead.

Small but better
Ok, just got this and had to charge it as there was no charge, anyway apart from that it was sooo easy to set up,from moving data etc from my p6,yep it's smaller & lighter but it's a huge improvement on the p6 (swollen battery twice and screen lifting) at the moment very pleased with it! Will update if anything changes in the future
