Likely To Have Health Benefits - More Expensive Than Some Rivals
I’d heard of resveratrol before and, having been offered a sample, thought I would give it a try.I’m someone who puts their trust in the science rather than marketing claims and so read some scientific papers to find out what has actually been established about health benefits. Evidence is there to support claims that this compound helps with heart health, cancer suppression, brain health, diabetes and as an anti-oxidant that will help protect cells from premature aging. But the evidence is not yet ‘gold standard’ as far as conducting comprehensive tests on humans is concerned. Experiments on rats and the humble yeast revealed positive results, but really good studies on humans remain to be completed.Having taken the supplement over the last 2 weeks I’ve not noticed any benefits in my day-to-day life. Though I wouldn’t expect to even if it was doing its job. Resveratrol’s affects are likely to be gradual and to appear in the long term with good health relative to one’s age and an increased chance of avoiding or lessening the impact of certain serious diseases. One of the key questions about the compound is, how much is required to be effective? Resveratrol is metabolised quickly in the body and therefore has limited time to do its thing, though the metabolites are also thought to be beneficial as anti-oxidants in their own right. There is no recommended dose but Vinco’s 600mg serving per day isn’t untypical among manufacturers. On balance I would be in favour of taking a resveratrol supplement long term, but not at any price. The claims made for this Vinco product tick all the right boxes in terms of quality control etc but at the current price of around £20 per month or £240 per year, there are rivals claiming equal quality but at a lower cost.

These do nothing for me.
Claimed to be a powerful antioxidant.I've been chronically ill for nearly 40 years, allegedly chronically ill people may have more need of antioxidant supplementation than healthy people.Approximately 25 years ago a friend supplied me with a couple of bottles of these things to see if they helped - they didn't seem to do anything so I stopped. Now that I'm approaching my 60s when I saw these come up again I thought they might be worth a try, chronic illness and now getting on a bit.As far as I can tell they didn't do anything.Doesn't mean they won't help others, but for me...nope.

A good brand to source your resveratrol from
I am not much of a consumer of red wine or grapes, and so only get a negligible amount of resveratrol dietarily. I have read a lot however about the health benefits of resveratrol, particularly it's anti-oxidant action and its potential use as an anti-ageing compound, and so was interested to boost my intake. This supplement was my first experience with resveratrol supplementation.I researched the brand and manufacturers a bit and was satisfied that they are producers of high quality supplements with independent certification and a well-documented supply chain. If I understand the literature correctly, resveratrol has a wide range of different effects on the body, with many of these especially relevant to specific medical conditions. As someone who currently enjoys good health, it is hard to objectively assess what benefits resveratrol supplementation is delivering for me in terms of prevention and wellness-enhancement, let alone lifespan extension. I can only say that I have used this product for a month, and I have tolerated it fine with no side effects, and that I continue to feel very healthy, and so I am happy to incorporate this supplement as part of my daily assortment of pills and potions. As research on this interesting compound continues to accumulate, I will be on the lookout for formulations that are more soluble and more bioavailable, as I understand that there is some skepticism in the research community that the present oral form is sufficiently effective in getting where it needs to go in the body.

Such A Versatile 'Life Insurance' Supplement - Great For Skin, Energy, Long-term Health Benefits
First became aware of Resveratrol when I heard someone talking about it on a podcast (!) and he reckoned it helped maintain his youthful looks and energy levels (anything that enhances wellbeing and appearance interests me, so I sought out Resveratrol for myself).I've seen this ingredient mentioned on tubs of NMN (of which I've had a few courses of previously, along with my other supplements). I knew Resveratrol was a powerful antioxidant sourced from eg, berries, red wine.I was also vaguely aware of Resveratrol as a life extension supplement (of course, we can't confirm this for sure!), but I didn't realise this also has mooted benefits for blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, joint pain - there's even some suggestion it could suppress cancer cells (I wouldn't rely on this as being the last word, as this aspect is still being studied, it seems). My main two areas of concern are really: lack of energy (hardcore anxiety sufferer and insomniac!) and maintaining a certain youthfulness (let's face it, beyond 50 you can only do so much). Some suggest that the combination of NMH and Resveratrol are actually the golden ticket ingredient combo, as far as longevity and skin health goes, but I'm feeling benefits already, re skin texture and wakefulness / motivation. Two capsules a day are recommended, which makes this a month's supply. I'd say for its myriad of health benefits this is well worth adding to your supplement arsenal long-term!
