Ineke Field Notes from Paris 75ml / 2.5 oz eau de parfum/perfume

I have tested each of the Ineke perfumes, from A to G, thanks to the deluxe sample collection that is available through the Ineke website. Field Notes From Paris is by far my favorite offering from this perfume house. The scent is very warm and comforting, and it does honestly make me feel like curling up in a blanket with a good book and a cup of tea...or maybe coffee. Either way, I enjoy the combination of spicy and musky, with just a hint of vanilla or something similar that holds it all together. The tobacco adds an unexpected flavor to this blend that I really love, and even though I normally don't love patchouli, it is subtle enough to work in combination with the richness of coriander and tonka bean.Honestly, there are no words that can fully describe this scent. It is rich and spicy, warm and sensual, yet never overpowering. Whenever Iwear this perfume, I can't resist smelling my wrists, over and over again. The sillage is nice -- again, without being heavy or obnoxious in any way. Best of all, this scent has tremendous staying power, lasting about 8-10 hours on average.In fact, there is only one negative comment I can offer with regard to this perfume, and that would be the price. As much as I LOVE this perfume (meaning that it is among my top three favorites of all time), I find that the price is simply out of reach for a lot of people, myself included. And that is a real shame, because I'm sure if it were more affordable, it would be enjoyed by a lot more women (and men).I am budgeting for my next bottle now, and I know it will be worth every penny. I believe that Field Notes From Paris is a beautiful and classic scent that deserves a lot more attention than it has received so far. Highly recommended, if you can scrape up the cash.UPDATE: 1/03/16--I just received a new bottle of this beautiful fragrance and it is just as intoxicating as the last one from almost five years ago! I used an Amazon gift card for this purchase and it was SO worth it!! LOVE. <3 <3

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Field notes from Paris scent has been my signature scent for years! Initially I got it at a store called Anthropology and then ordered directly from Ineke online. Now on amazon it ships faster than ever. I love this scent because stays on clothes or bedsheets which is lovely. There's no alcohol smell either.. Its bold and spicy, like a man's cologne without the musk, yet sweet and soft with vanilla and bergamot. I don’t care much for florals, so the orange flower mixed with subtle tobacco leaf are addictive without being too girly. It dries down from spicy-sweet to a soft, mellow, smokey envelopment with notes of leather & the unique sweetness of tonka bean. Ineke herself calls it a Woody Oriental which totally fits. Its also meant to be unisex and I can see a sophisticated man or alluring boss lady wear this like a second skin. As mentioned in the caption this scent truly adjust to my natural body heat and scent. I could be sweaty or just out the shower and this melt into my skin like I'm creating the scent myself! It drives my boyfriend absolutely wild. Overall for the price this bottle is a great splurge and I buy myself one bottle a year which is worth it. Other designer brands can't compare to the natural chemistry this scent has with my body!

The design of the bottle is nice. The scent last about 4 hours. A short lived smell.

I was taking a chance with this fragrance since it was a "blind buy". I had read an article about it, and was so impressed that I purchased a full bottle without even trying a sample. This is not my normal behavior, since I have made many mistakeswith this kind of gamble, but this time it was a fortunate guess. This fragrance suits me, since I have a rather large collection, it is easy to get bored with another sweet smelling thing with notes that have gotten boring from overuse. This one, however, isdifferent. It's interesting, pleasant, and keeps surprising me with something else hiding in there that I hadn't quite noticed.When fragrances are this original, they are often short-lived since the market for that kind of thing is small. I hope that thisone survives. Now I'm going to try other things from that intriguing line.

I purchases a sample pack of Ineke perfumes. I really disliked this one, it smells like Joop! cologne.

I was looking for well over a year for a nice perfume, but all the department store options were too 'perfumey'. This smells amazing. I bought the mixed sampler first from another sight and fell in love with this scent. If I could afford more, I would buy Balmy days. This one smells kind of feminine musky and it's not overpowering. I still can smell it after an 8 hour work day where I have to move around on my feet!

Too expensive for what it is. If you have tried cheaper perfumes at Macy's, you have likely experienced something similar. Nice first note but nothing to brag about later. My spouse got a headache from this. (This doesn't mean other perfumes by Ineke are not good - try their cheaper sampler first to see if you like something). Perfume tastes are very individual, and you may like it.

Good materials and natural products used in this perfume. I just wasn't wild about the scent. It was not what I was expecting. It smells more like a field in the afternoon sun, not a garden or a cafe in downtown Paris. So I was disappointed in that. Scent was well done and great bottle, just not to my taste.
